Hi Guys,
Well what's the favourite? (now Ireland's out)
Hmm!
Already thinking of next years bash
The Ukraine will be a hard act to follow?
But saying that ........have you got any ideas for next years bash for us to do song wise? with a catchy tune and dance routine??
Doesn't have to be a song from the Eurovision song contest.
But what a challenge for us
SO! get your thinking caps on guys.
OOOPPPSSS!
Have I just opened a can of worms and thrown down the gauntlet
Ah well, looking forward to all your suggestions
Ryan
Ha!
just had another thought.
After all this, I haven't even talked to the other Ukraine members to see if they are up for this challenge. HA!!
Over to you guys. _________________ Were no sissy's.......were "Ruffy Tuffy Rough Riders"

Well the only contender in this years Eurovision is Latvia entry 'Pirates of The Sea' who are singing "Wolves of The Sea!"
Maybe you could do Abba (with the boys being the girls and vice versa) or Bucks Fizz? _________________ RCCGB - THE Club for trips!

Yes it was the winning song (for the UK) in 1967. It was sung by Sandi Shaw who famously performed it barefoot. It went on to become a number one hit!
Less than 23hrs till this years final! _________________ RCCGB - THE Club for trips!

Have you seen the Spanish Eurovision entry.......an old guy wearing a bad Elvis wig and 2 women who look like men doing very bad robot dancing in the background - someone please tell us what that's all about! _________________ John & Jane, Langroyd Hotel, Blackpool. Member #2455 |

Ahh yes you mean Rodolfo Chikilicuatre singing "Baila el Chiki Chiki" Apparently the song is a parody of reggae music filled with jokes and references to the Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez and the Spanish prime minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. The original version had to be changed as Eurovision rules do not allow political remarks in any songs in the competition.
Heres the chorus:
Dance it with Alonso, Dance it with Gasol
Dance it with your brothers, all around the world
Dance it with Bardem Dance it with Banderas
Dance with Almodóvar Dance la Macarena
For full lyrics and Rodolfo's details check:

Thanks for clearing that up for us - although when they were changing the lyrics, they could have chosen some that made sense! Oh how we yearn for the good old days when we had such deep and meaningful lyrics as diggy loo diggy lay! _________________ John & Jane, Langroyd Hotel, Blackpool. Member #2455 |

| I'm going to an extremely boozy party tonight loosely based on the Eurovision Song Contest. I'm going as a French maid. God knows what state I'll be in tomorrow! |

Yes we've got a Eurovision party too. Me and Chris have just returned from the shops having purchased Ł100 of food from all over Europe!
I have already put up 27 Euro flags around the living room! The Ultimate Eurovision Party CD is playing, the 50th Anniversary Eurovision Encyclopedia is on the coffee table (which is a glass fishtank style affair with a scale model of the Phoenix inside it!) and I have printed score charts!
Should I really be admitting to this!!

I'm posting on the Eurovision page on Facebook.
A Turkish guy's just agreed with me that our entry is horrific. He loves British pop music and can't understand why our songs are always so bad.
I haven't seen anything to impress me yet, but I like the backing track on the Armenian number. _________________ Sarah

I'm quite loving Bosnia right now, they're my favourite so far.

Those who attended Blackpool may wonder why Linda represented Georgia.

I agree there, I think we ought to do Latvia's "Wolves of the Sea" at next year's Blackie Bash. That's easy and fun for everyone to sing and dance along to. Alternatively we could do Ukraine - Ani Lorak "Shady Lady" which was the runner-up again. It's quite catchy, with a great dance routine. |
