My first trip of the new coastering season was yesterday at Alton Towers. We met up with other club members and went over to Nemesis which was in a poor state to say the least.
The first ride of the day and I was covered in liquid rust, the ride was dripping badly covering my face, trousers and jacket, I was a mess when I got off the ride. Later that day the ride was down because of too many complaints about the same thing, some members of public got this rust in their eyes, surely they should have been better prepared for the first full opening day!
The park was relatively quiet considering all the advertising that was on TV, we got on everything we wanted too but there were a few problems, No more McDonalds, they have been replaced with Burger King, aparently they were asked to tender for the business and the highest bidder won.
The staff at Burger King didn't have a clue, they didn't know what was on their menu's. It was so bad we left without buying anything. We went to an Alton Towers site instead which was next to the pub which had different prices on the receipt compared to the advertised prices, obviously higher! so be careful and check what you are paying for.
I took some friends down with me who hadn't been to the park in over a decade. They wanted some ride photo's but a lot of these were down!
Alton Towers aren't responsable for Ride photo's now and as such you can't get the 20% Annual Pass discount on them. They are operated by Picsolve.
This is only the start for Merlin, what will come next?
The rest of the day was alright mind, with the exception of poor weather, we left around 6PM and are looking forward to The Blackpool Bash in a month's time.
I have put 20 photo's from the trip on my website, address link below. See you all at Blackpool.

Thats so true bout burger king it was a joke. We all waited bout 10 to 15 mins when every body got everything and half the stuff on there they didnt even have. It said they do milk shakes but nope they dont do them so why put them on there. There prices hit the roof also to. Think packed lunches now all the time.
The ride photos im not sure they did discount when there were tussauds as thorpe park never gave us discount for them. Have to double check.
Pics on soon. _________________ Naked roller coaster world record holder 2004

Is the Indian place still there?
Also, if the prices on the receipt were different to those advertised, did you complain?
That's very bad and I believe, illegal. _________________ Sarah

These are my pics from the weekend.

Being part of the pirate record attempt was fun. The highlight being meeting Doktor Haze from the Circus Of Horrors. We spoke to him for over 15 minutes. He is a really cool guy. He was there as part of the official record attempt staff.
Quite a feet for a guy who was in the finishing stages of the UK Asylum Tour. He had done a show the previous night and was doing another that night according to the website.
I even got him to do a "From Hell"! live!
The new splash Battle ride is really well themed but the Mutiny Bay is worthless. _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/
