Who went - my (younger) sister and me.

A fun day out - although the park was much busier than we expected.  I have no idea why - although the free Sun tickets obviously boost numbers.  I only noticed one school group.

Ride Count:

Spinball Whizzer  2
Oblivion   1
Rita  (next to back row) 1
Corkscrew 1
Ug Swinger  1
Sky Ride   1
Air (front row)  1
Hex  1
Nemesis  (front row) 1
Duel   1
Runaway Mine Train  1
The Beastie   1

Highlights:

My sister's first time on Rita.  The launch was no problem (she has done TTD before), but she was not expecting the sensation of the first three hills.

Getting to the Mexican Catina for lunch just before 3, to find there was a 2 for £6 meal deal starting at 3.

Incredibly, my first ride on the Beastie lol

My sister texting her daughter to say she had ridden Oblivion and never wanted to do again.  (Said daughter has ridden it a few times and thinks it is great)

Lowlights:

Busy, so long queues.  (Even with 6 cars operating on Oblivion and 3 on Air)

Heavy thunderstorm about 3:30.  We stayed at the Catina for a while, but eventually gave up and bought AT raincoats.

Air breaking down when we near the front of the queue (and would already have ridden if I had not insisted on riding the front row).  But they got it fixed within about 10 minutes.

Spinball Whizzer breaking down when we were in the single rider queue at the end of the day.  I felt really sorry for the 4 kids in front of us who had to leave the queue because of the time.  We stayed, and they did get it going again - that could have been very disappointing.

We skipped the wet rides because of the weather (although time was against us too) But overall a fun day out.

Glad you had a good day tho despite the ques. We made that mistake by doing the summer tour in july last year and the worst parks was lightwater, Drayton and alton as all schools do there trips in July very bad times to go.

I've just been looking at my coaster count again.

It turns out that my 100th coaster was the beastie at Alton Towers!  Shocked
