Hershey Park are to expand The Boardwalk area of the park. The Boardwalk, which opened in 2007 as part of the parks Centennial celebrations, will receive 2 new attractions for guests to cool off in.

The expansion which is being tagged as The SEAquel will see the arrival of The Shore, a 378,000 gallon wave pool and Intercoastal Waterway, a relaxing lazy river. Both attractions are being provided by White Water West industries.

There will also be 27 private hire cabanas as well as new retail and dinign locations and additonal locker hire and changing areas.

Additionally Roller Soaker and Tidal Force are to be integrated into The Boardwalk at Hershey Park to offer guests nine unique water based attractions. This expansion, however, will mean the end for the Canyon River Rapids ride.

I'm a bit surprised to see that the rapids ride is going.  That type of ride seems to be retaining it's popularity, unlike the log flumes.

Ah well - at least I got to ride it on this year's USA trip (and I have the onride photo to prove it  Very Happy  )
