Being an courier alternative club, (And that's a European Emergency Courier and not an European Coaster Club member...10 hail Mary's), it gives me the opportunity to visit a great number of theme parks on the continent. Europa Park has been on my wish list for some time now and last weekend i finally got the chance to visit it. I've got to be honest, the major pull was Silver Streak just because it's a B&M, and i've never been dissapointed with one of their coasters. No matter how old they are, they are always smooth as silk. And Silver Streak was no different.
The day was sunny and red hot and i was tired from the extremely long drive, but i was determined to enjoy first ride (Which was infact my first ride on a coaster in contiental Europe), on Silver Streak...And enjoy it i did. Was a little freaked out as i boarded her because the restraints leave you with enough room to move around in your seat, and no matter how hard i tried i could not get as tight and snug as i would have liked. But i was soon to realise that the safety bars were more than adequate for the job. As we pulled to the bottom of the lift, the sun was high above us and when we started to asend the climb it was blinding us from seeing exactly how far we had to go to reach the top, which just added to the excitement. Once at the top (And i was sitting in pole position), i just had enough time for a quick look around the German countryside before plummeting down the 219ft drop, which did give me a huge amount of enjoyment (And air). But what a rush. The rest of the ride filled with airtime hills and sharp banked turns just made for a great ride, which is probably one of the best rides i have ever ridden (So far).
I'm not sure we in the UK will ever get another coaster breaking the 200 ft ceiling after PMBO and Stealth, but if any park succeeds in getting planning permission to build one, they could do no better than installing a B&M hypercoaster (Or a woodie...Incase Andy' reading this).
The rest of Europa Park was fab also, and i was amazed with the amount of great attractions the park had. Something for a family of all ages, which just makes for a fantastic day out...Even if i was the only Brit in the park. _________________ Making the world a better place by being nice!

I take it you mean Silver Star?
A few of us did the park a few years ago, and was very impressed with the rides and themeing. This is how a Theme Park should look.
My fave ride there had to be Eurosat though. _________________ Don't look at me, I'm just Human

Cheers for correction fellas.
It should be Streak (which was a film) and is why i always call it that.
It don't really matter what i call it coz you all know what i mean, and it don't change the fact it's a great coaster. _________________ Making the world a better place by being nice!

Yep, I knew what you meant, even if I'm falling asleep by the computer . Indeed a good coaster, even though I'm used to B&M's with inversions, but this made a nice change. It's what the PMBO could have been _________________ Don't look at me, I'm just Human

I just love Europa Park full stop. We were there at the beginning of the Hallowe'en celebrations last September. From Poseidon I could see other decorations in a staging area. There were pumpkins everywhere though and the theming was amazing.
I did like the Fairytale boats. _________________ Sarah

Chocolate covered fruit Marshall... it's the future!!

| Just returned from europa park and how impressed was i ! A great selection of rides in a wonderfull setting and the best attention to detail themeing i have ever come across. Went on loads of rides as we had 3 days there and even a behind the scenes tour by the mack family. Quite a few park owners in attentance so nice to catch up with old frends. well worth a visit and not to exspensive. |

It's just how a big park should be, wouldn't you say.
