Nothing to panic over Frosty - Maelstrom is the best flat ride in the UK IMHO. Looks worse than it is to be honest. Plus, you get loads of airtime and pull some great G's!!
Maelstrom rocks!!!
Oh, the second best flat ride is Golden Nuggets, also at Drayton Manor!! yee-ahh cowboy!!!
Got my trip badge today too _________________ RCCGB Club Member #1908 |

Maelstrom is excellent, for a spinner its not as bad as it looks. Hayley hates spinners, especially Vortex, but she loves Maelstrom. Its like everything really. Try it once, if you hate it you never have to do it again, although you may be suprised and love it. _________________ Steve

I have just arranged a deal with YourDay (the souvenir DVD company who video you on the rides).
All members at Loopathon will be able to get a 20% discount on the purchase of a DVD - which now includes 8 rides!
All you have to do is show your RCCGB trip badge or membership card or wristband (which I'll give you on Saturday).

Good on you Steve
Taken together with Nev's earlier posting, it looks like I might actually use the "Your Day" thingy. Although that does mean I must remember to ride Nemesis before the ERS.
Does anybody know what the options are? I know there is a single ride version, and an 8 rides version - but is there anything in between (cost wise)? _________________ Now counting my coasters at http://www.coastercounter.com/bradpeet - which even has the snails |

As buffet's go, it's fine tho. There was a decent choice (i'm not veggie), and once the initial wave of people has gone through the line, you can keep helping yourself until it's all gone. For £8 you'd do well to beat it using the on-site froth food places.
Only thing that could be improved, was if the beer was included in the price Then you'd always get Ryan to loopy |
I had the Alton lunch when I went to Loopathon day 1 in 2005 and 2006, and was quite happy with it.
Someone once told me that I should try the Drayton Manor lunch, and reckoned that, once tasted, I won't want the Alton lunch again. I've never been to day 2 of the Loopathon at Drayton Manor, so to this day have no experience of the Drayton lunch. Is it really superior to the Alton one?
Last year I didn't attend either day of Loopathon. Nor will I be attending either day of Loopathon this year. Hopefully I'll see you all at Blackpool Bash 2009. Meanwhile, to those of you attending either or both days of Loopathon tomorrow and/or Sunday, have fun! |

Having an ERS on Maelstrom are you this Sunday at Drayton? I've just looked at the Drayton Manor Park site and realised what Maelstrom is, a thrill ride which swings and spins.
During the ERS on Roller Coaster at this year's Summer Bash at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, I clocked up no fewer than eight goes on Roller Coaster. I'd probably be sick if I tried four goes on Maelstrom let alone eight.
I did ride Evolution at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach during the Summer Bash this year. Just like Maelstrom, that swings and spins, and was a thrilling experience, but once was enough. Also I had one go on Bling during this year's Blackpool Bash, but once was enough. |
