I have taken the hard decision to drop JDRF as the charity for 2009 due to lack of communication from the Charity, I have tried on many occasions to contact them with no success.  Due to the time scale the new charity will be Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital. I hope this is ok with all involved  Smile

Very Happy Hi everyone,
It's now just over 10 days until a number of us ride Megafobia all day for charity. On Sunday May 10th, myself and my intrepid colleagues will be at Oakwood rasing money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. This will be my first foray into charity riding  Laughing  and I will be joining some seasoned riders for the day who will hopefully guide me.

Amazing things happen at Great Ormond Street Hospital every day and the money raised is crucial in helping them continue with this great work. By sponsoring us you are helping  to pay for more life-saving equipment for children who are critically ill, more beds so parents can be close to their children, and more ground-breaking research to give sick children a brighter future. For many families and children the hospital is a place of hope. With your help it can continue to give the very best care to these remarkable children.

They have to raise £50 million every year to make this happen
If you would like to support me it's easy to donate online by credit or debit card - just go to my Justgiving page:

http://www.justgiving.com/kevintinson

Justgiving sends your donation straight to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

If you would like to support the other riders (Andrew Paterson, Mary Knight, Andy Wright, Rachel Paterson) I'm sure they would send their details if you PM them.

Supporting any one of us will get this deserving charity some well needed money

Many thanks for reading

Kevin

I will get Andy to clarify final details etc. but neither of us have been too well over this past week so we have been a little lax, so apologies for that.

Due to another engagement which has come up after this date was set I will also be driving up and back on the Sunday...have to leave about 04:30am Crying or Very sad , but should get back home at around 09:30pm.

Weather forecast at present says it will be a pleasant day, high of around 14C only 10% chance of any precipition...hooray Laughing

Shame I can't make the camping this year Sad , would have been great to have some fun the night before!

No such luck from my local newspaper...miserable lot! Crying or Very sad

It's now just under a week until we ride Megafobia all day for charity. As a reminder. on Sunday May 10th, myself and my mad as hatters colleagues will be at Oakwood rasing money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. I am currently wondering why I volunteered Confused .....a few nerves kicking in but I'm sure those will be blown away at the first drop!

We are raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital because they need it to pay for more life-saving equipment for children who are critically ill, more beds so parents can be close to their children, and more ground-breaking research to give sick children a brighter future. They need your help to be able to continue to give the very best care to these remarkable children.

There's not much time left to pledge support for myself or any of the others you know

So come on, please dig deep Smile ....supporting any one of us will get this deserving charity some well needed money and help make a difference to those families in need of Great Ormond Street and it's unique and world renowned facilities Very Happy

I did not use a only cash giving site. I used only forms I got a bit but not as much as I would have liked but every bit helps I suppose  Very Happy

I am looking forward to this but I am also not looking forward to riding one coaster all day it may catch up with me in the week after so they will al know I have ridden it that's for sure.

[quote="coaster-andy"]I did not use a only cash giving site. I used only forms I got a bit but not as much as I would have liked but every bit helps I suppose  Very Happy

I have used both 'Just giving' and Sponsor form as some people prefer the more conventional way, it doesn't matter as long as we are raising money and as you say every donation either big or small helps Great Ormond Street. My 5 year old daughter Cara is even digging into her money box and giving me £1 and this was without me asking her! And Amy my eldest daughter who is a student has even given me some of her hard earned money

So to all those of you out there who want to support a great cause, now is the time Very Happy........please Smile

Blimey Kev! Just looked at your Just Giving site and it's brilliant to see how much people have donated.

Andy, you're right every little does help. If I can make one suggestion I would say drink plenty of water during the day - I'll be there in the park so hopefully will be able to pop back and forth to make sure you're all doing ok and fetch anything you might need.

Yes, every little bit does help, plus you have to support people who are going to sit on meggy all day, as it cannot be an easy task.

The just giving site is very easy and quick to use / donate so no excuses  Very Happy

I did 101 times last year mate. Was a pleasure to do it and had a great day. Had a right laugh with the guys i did it with. Was painful at first and then you learn to ride it and where to take the bumps. Was more like an intense work out. Only real pain was not going to the toilet for 5 hours so i could beat Andy Knight lol.

So only 4 days until the Meggy experience.......riding the old girl all day for charity! Smile

Don't forget we are raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital because they need it to give sick children a brighter future. Any donation is appreciated, whether large or small so please show your generosity and support by sponsoring one of the rag tag team of individuals gathering at Oakwood on Sunday  Smile

Very Happy
