The past week I've been listening to Kraftwerk's Computer World and The Man Machine - all good stuff. It's been a long time since I last heard these albums - but I really can't get into Radio-Activity _________________ Steve

The Model is my favourite (Man Machine). If you get The Mix there is a great version of Radio Activity. _________________ Andy Hine is also known as NEV!

Maverick had another mishap the other day.
From reports it would seem that some girl had her mobile phone out at some point on the ride and it wacked a girl sat behind.
The ride was shut for a small peroid of time whilst the incident was dealt with and reopened shortly after. _________________

Maybe we should swap the Maverick ERS for Raptor, just in case. _________________ Yankee Freeloader Pete

I am not fussed if it has all these problems. As long as I ride Maverick I don't mind.

Exactly! How many times does AIR break down! Rita? Stealth, etc! And the last incident was caused by someone holding a mobile ("Please secure all loose articles").
Having worked with Cedar Point for many many years, rest assured I have negotiated a plan B (and C). So whatever steelie breaks down there, we'll just move to another!! _________________ Andy Hine is also known as NEV!

Hopefully all the rotten luck Cedar is having will be out of the way before you all go and we go the week after.
By the way I hope you all dont mind me posting in this section, we are not on the trip but seeing as we are going to Cedar Point for the first time ourselves just the week after it does feel like it somehow. I have never felt as excited about anything in all my 35 years
Maverick is the ride I really cant wait to ride, even though its not the biggest one there it does look totally insane _________________

Ryan,
Perhaps plan b or c involves a trip down to Texas.

Mean streak is alright. Tons better than Maverick anyway.
Raptor ERS would be really cool.
With any luck have the luck we did last year. Getting 3 or 4 coasters done before the crowd/public hits the park. Starts the day off well.
Gonna relax at Cedar more this year. First year rushed it and did`nt really take it all in. Then last year wasted to much time waiting for a front seat of TTD with numerous break downs. I have every tick at Cedar, so its my fun and relax day. Any ERS is cool really.
Graham, a whole week at one park? Why not travel to the other parks and enjoy them? A full day at Cedar is ample, two days great. A week would be tedious mate. _________________ My Site www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

Dont forget though mate this is a person who roamed BPB for 6 days around my birthday
It has been tempting to go to a couple of other parks but this trip to Cedar was not even planned up until a couple of weeks ago when things happened to free up some time.
We are going to use this holiday to get as many rides as possible at Cedar then next time when we are over there for longer we will do more parks in the area like Kennywood, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens and drive over to Holiday World as well. _________________

With recent news of problems with some rides and potential takeovers that may not necessarily be a good thing, one thing is always guaranteed to be good news - more ERS's. _________________ Steve

Well, off to the airport in an hour and a half and the flight to Heathrow where later we'll be at the Airport Bowl before our flight tomorrow to Washington.
I'll be taking plenty of photo's!! and will try and update my website daily. I'll also be doing some trip reports and when we join the club at Newark next weekend i'm sure Ryan will be adding some amusing reports about his Gynaecology!!
See you all soon at Newark!

Oh by the way the weather at Washington tomorrow is about 30 degrees C (in old money about 85 degrees F) LOVERLY!!!! Remember your sunglasses, sun block and cap. See you in a week. Harvey |

Ive left them there drinking the place dry before they head off tomorrow morning for their mini-trip (meeting us at Newark next Sat). _________________ Andy Hine is also known as NEV!

Hi Everyone,
The Coaster Police Group have indeed touched down in Newark, just in time before a massive thunderstorm arrived.
To avoid going off topic, we will carry on our trip reports in the relevant trip report section.

BA have confirmed 100% that our flight to Newark will definitely be departing from Terminal FOUR. The will now not be moving this flight and many others, until September (and some in October.).

Talking of passports - when we are going coaster crazy, what do people do with their passports? i.e keep them in the hotel safe or the rooms, and if so, do we need to carry a photocopy? Sorry if this is covered in the travel guide, as I need to re-read that. _________________ Steve

If we are in the same hotel 2 nights running (Sat/Sun nights and Thur/Fri nights) then you can leave them in the room (in the safe). The other times you can leave it in your suitcase as it will be safe locked on the bus. Do remember though that you need photo ID for the casino and for Jet-skiing (if you haven't got a photo driving licence).
With regards to photocopying, I've never done that before, but do make sure you have a note of the passport number, start date and expiry date. _________________ Andy Hine is also known as NEV!

From past experience (Corky !!!) it can be a bit of a nightmare if you lose your passport so keeping a copy of your passport number is a good idea. If you are going to use the hotel safe in your room PLEASE make sure you empty it on the day we leave as the taxi fare from the park back to the hotel can be very expensive. And if you do lose your passport (which I hope nobody will on this trip) please let us know asap and not the day before we come home so that we can then help you in sorting it out. _________________ The Guru will see you now. |

This morning I heard on the radio that BA are now adding a further fuel surcharge to their flights, and according to the BA website, all tickets issued on or after 3 June 2008 for long haul flights to the USA of 9 hours or less now have a surcharge of $147 - $209 for more than 9 hours.
Nev - as the tickets are to be collected at the airport, or electronic - how does this affect those going to the US? _________________ Steve

Hi, we are fine, I am in possession of the tickets already (had them since last week) so BA can't harass me for more money as they were issued before June 3rd. _________________ Andy Hine is also known as NEV!
