You've got to laughTo further highlight the bleak outlook on the bingo industry and following on from Nev's redundancy a few months ago from Mecca yesterday I was given 'notice of redundancy' and this morning I went in and was asked to leave the site hand my keys in as I am now on gardening leave!

Sorry to hear that. Since the smoking ban there has indeed been a huge amount of staff cutbacks and loss of income etc. Our club hasn't been hit as badly as some others due to being the only one in the area and a lot of tourists coming through all the time but not so long ago they were reducing everyone's hours and really struggling to make up on the income they'd lost  .

Dont worry barry, sometimes these decisions are made for us, and mostly they are for the better you never know what life has in store. Remember life is a rollercoaster, full of ups and downs.

Me 'n the wife both got laid off on the same day from the same place its a massive comedy kick in the googlies but we bounced back.
If all else fails you could become a policeman.

Sorry to hear about that fella. I've been made redundant twice before now, but things have a way of working out. Everything happens for a reason, and while the short term might look iffy, in the long term, things will work out for the best. It could be just the nudge you need to get into the perfect job.

Ohhhhh yes, redundancy sucks. Been there before myself quite recently (well a year ago) and its not much fun.

Well, Its finally happened on the 5th November I was finally made redundant from Riva Gaming. (still I enjoyed the 5 months paid leave they gave me ) but the good news is that as of Monday I am Area AWP (posh name for Fruit machines) Manager for Mecca Bingo
It is the Job I was originally wanted at Riva and with a nice bonus of a nice pay rise and going back to a company that I already know.
so maybe people are right these things do turn out for the best!
