Winter wounderland

Winter wounderland had come to London with a new coaster from the Netherlands so we had to try it out. After getting excited after seeing the new attractions I booked the coach tickets for the thursday 20/11/08. Steve text me on the wednesday saying that it dosent open till the 22nd of November. I Was dissapointed as nearly 6 of us were all heading there for the night but now we had nothing to do as everything else shut at 6. So what were we going to do for 4 hours before the coach. We had a trip on the London eye and then saw the big wheel in the distance all lit up. We all said its probs just for testing etc before the the big day but then it started moving. As soon as we got of the eye we headed over to Hyde park. To are suprise it was open everyting lit up and running. We walked around seeing what rides to go on etc. We headed over to the ticket box and asked for some tickets. The guy behind said its only open to VIP's and the press.

We explained to the guy behind the desk saying that we come down to just ride the coaster and noticed are jackets. He said speak to the guys on the coaster see what they say so we headed down and spoke to them. The guys said yeah thats fine just show your cards etc and then just go on anything for free. We done the coaster which was a great coaster and smooth to. We headed for the other attactions all the same just show your card for a free ride. All the staff were great and just said make sure you give a great review for us and we are. The pleace looks great and much better then last year to. The coaster and the Ghost train as fun as always. The best ride was the giant toboggan slide this massive slide was that tall that it nedded a esculater to get to the top but it wasent working today tho. This 10 lane slide was great fun it even took your ride photo to. Vicci got stuck half way down but enough said on that  Laughing

A fatastic day this was and a great way to end the night to. Anyone wishing to visit it is open the 22nd of November till the 4th of January.

Who went? We did isn't it lol

Highlights: I was there, nuff said.

Low-lights: Nobody had any mini Cheddars.

Meet Smiler, Vicci, Natalie and Sugar Cane at London Bridge Station at 5pm. Just as they said they were closing the London Bridge Experience. Luckily we said we wanted to go in and they stayed open for us and completed the show for just 8 of us in the attraction.
Sorry you were late Ian, would have been better with you in there bro.

I have to say, you can see why the London Dungeon and Merline feel threatened by the new attraction. The entrance is not across the road like the new facade at the front shows. You have to take a detour around the corner and down the road which was a little strange.
The gift shop is nothing compared to the Dungeons. They didn't think of making t-shirts in adult sizes and only sell very minimum stuff really. Big let down after the advertising.

We flew threw the attraction but then the cast did want to go home and it was empty at 5.30pm. The cast were very funny and tongue in cheek. It dos not give anything that the Dungeon gives you. Just a comical/nasty history of the Bridge and the area.
The actors were very good in the first half/ The London Bridge Experience. Then the London Tombs are like 7 or 8 horror maze walkthroughs in one. Very good for a group atmosphere. The zombies were alot of fun.
Like i said, my issue was, we paid our money and got through so fast, i was left looking for more. But the attraction was very good. Not the detail theming of the Dungeons but it is still new.

Then it was off to the London eye which was walk on and had a great time. Like Rich said, we saw the Hyde Park wheel turning and decided to go have a look.

I heard on Capital Radio that they were doing a VIP only and media day. But we managed to blag our way on to the coaster and a lot of the other rides. Plus that plastic was fantastic. Got the whole Wonderland done before it was open and without any real payment. Cheer to the ride ops for letting us on the rides and the staff are in form this year. The park looks awesome and the rides are so much better this year.

Great to catch up with Auntie Murial/Ian again. Hope you are back full time soon buddy, missed ya.
Was one of our better meet ups and we blag-ed alot and did tons in such a short time. Hope January London meet up is as good or better.
