TTD - Stuck at the top

Over the weekend at Cedar Point, Top Thrill Dragster decided to get stuck at the very top!!

This is only the 2nd time in its history it has done this with people on the ride, how lucky were the people on the ride at the time?

Lucky folks. If that had been RCCGB members, how about spend a few minutes at the top to catch the view then everyone rocking back and forth to get a rollback - a two for one lifetime experience!

On a previous USA trip TTD did stop at the top, and the look on the faces of the staff when the club members rocked the train till it moved was fantastic,  but it went forward so they did not get a roll back.

Shocked
Must have scared the live out of them being stuck up there for 15 to 20 minutes how long dose it take to get a member of staff up there? that must be a slow elevator
For anyone who doesn't know ttd is double the height of stealth at Thorpe park Wink

I would imagine that it would be one of the maintenance people as oppossed to a ride op. they would probably have to do things like lock the ride out as well before going up there.

I would have been a bit freaked out by this, especially if I was near the front on the side of the train tilting downwards. I wonder if being stuck on top of TTD is one achievement rollback queen Lisa is now hoping for.

I have just read that Cedar Point treated the people stuck on the ride to a $60+ meal at famous daves restaurant.

How lucky were these people?  Laughing

Spending 15 mins admiring the view from the top of TTD, dropping 400 odd feet, then dinner is my idea of a good time!  Very Happy
Magic

SOOOO jealous, stuck at the top AND a meal at Famous Dave's. Not sure which is the best the meal or the ride. Famous Dave's rocks.
