Trauma Towers

Went to Blackpool a few days ago, and noticed not only was this shut (no surprise there) but all the window 'decorations' had been removed as well. Does anyone know what is happening with this ride, or is it just being left to rot a la The Whip?

What is Trauma Towers? Initially I thought you meant Trauma Tower - a Moser Rides mini drop tower inside The Empire of the Sea Dragon at Woodlands near Dartmouth, until I saw Blackpool in your post. Is the Trauma Towers you mean in Pleasure Beach Resort Blackpool, or on one of the piers?

Trauma Towers is the old horro walk-through next to The Grand National at Pleasure Beach Blackpool.

It has been closed since about 2010, and the Tacada at the end has been sold and removed (I believe - Marcus will confirm!)
I think they just use the entrance now as the Photo-shop for the Scary Pirate.

Cheers Jester. Wonder if they're going to use the building for anything, or rip it, get rid of the fountains too, and have a nice size footprint for.... something?

I doubt they will get rid of the fountains, as they have only been in a few seasons, plus I like them.

They had better not get rid of the fountains. I love them. Those displays are awesome. What they really need is more seats in the area so oldies like me can sit and enjoy them.  Laughing

They wouldn`t do that (get rid) anyway. They`ve only been there a short time and must have cost a lot of money to install. The fountains are also one of the reasons the park feels they can charge 5 for entry.

Shame about Trauma Towers though. I used to enjoy that.

Some of the themeing that was inside Trauma Towers is now in the Ghost Train Smile

The ride part shut sometime ago and the walk through a while after. Rach is right 90% of the themeing is now in the Ghost train. The ride has been sold to a traverling fair I think and the old entrance to the ride is now used as the photo shop and the fountains start thing  Very Happy

Don't get me wrong - I like the fountains too. I'm just wondering how much space they'd have to insert something if, say, the fountains plus TT plus Alice (and I LOVE Alice) went. It's quite a space.

Just like to say I also like Brad & Bella's garden - the bench  near the lavender walk is a nice restful place to sit, Mary! Very Happy

The fountains are great. Nice place to chill out.
I would hope that Alice has some sort of preservation order on her. It's one of those rides I remember from my very young childhood, probably the cause of many nightmares.

I'm glad you said that Laughing

But seriously, it ties in with something that I've given thought to.  The seating in the FY4 area is great for watching the fountains on hot, dry days - but what about all the dull, cool or wet days we get in the UK?  I think a mirror fronted building could be built to replace Trauma Towers, possibly a 2 story building selling drinks and snacks on the ground floor and more substantial offerings on the first floor.

The unpredictable spray from the fountains would make it undesirable to have any sort of ride queue in that area in my opinion.

I think those fountains cost 500,000 if I remeber what they said at the Bash when they were installed. They are some of the better ones I have seen. They have the same system at the Europa Roman themed hotel but, the display is not as good  Very Happy

Have BPB finished paying of their debts to be able to add a major new roller coaster?
