Tower RidesFolks, does anyone know a good site for details about UK tower rides?
I went to DMP yesterday for the first time in over twenty years and just couldn't work up the courage to get on Apocalypse (oh the shame)!
I don't know, but for some reason, I'm really struggling with tower rides nowadays. It all seems to have started with a ride on WMSP's 'Venom' a couple of years ago, which although isn't that high, drops with force, rather than just gravity and scared the life out of me. Even when attending BB earlier this year, I had to leave the queue for Iceblast, as I bottled it! Even though it's one of my favourites and I've rode it many times previously!
I did manage to get myself on Bounce at Oakwood last month, but I'm finding I need to prepare myself mentally before riding them nowadays. Anyway, I was after some stats to comfort myself (!), as I wonder whether it's a height thing. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Graeme

You have the same fear as me. I don't mind shot towers so much, just drop towers, especially Apocalypse. Got the ride picture, so don't have to ride it any more

Personally drop towers used to scare the what names out of me. But these days I'm not so bad. I still get a really good thrill from it though.
I went to PortAventura and had a deal with another guy, "If I rode, he rode". So I knew he'd be more worried about the Hurakan Condor than me so we rode. I think that cured my fear a little, but I'm still aprehensive.

My first drop tower may well be in two weeks at Loopathon. Apprehensive, you betcha, but the time has come where I just have to do it.

As a member of the board team and an admin, I'd just like to say I'm impressed this was written in pirate speak without the input of the word changer.
Well done shipmate.
