Thorpe's General Manager gonePeter Ronchetti who has been the General Manager at Thorpe Park for six years is headed for pastures new. He's been given the job of General Manager at another Merlin park, Legoland California. What a great move, California would be a great place to live, especially for his eldest son who is a semi pro skateboarder.
I'm sure Legoland California will be a much nicer place to manage than Thorpe, although I don't know what the American equivalent of a CHAV is, but being a family park they probably don't get too much of that.
The former Legoland GM, Jo Jakobsen, managed all four Lego parks but now they will each get a GM. Jakobsen is now in charge of the development of new Merlin attractions, including Legolands in Malaysia and Dubai.
Not heard about Thorpe's new GM.

The new GM goes by the name of Mike Vallis, who is currently divisional director at Chessington World of Adventures.
After managing a park where major 'ride' investment has stalled since Land of the Dragons in 2004, moving to Thorpe will be somewhat of a culture shock

I'm sure it will be a big change for him working at Legoland in California as will be quite a shock moving abroad.
