me and jess can do the 17th as ive hopefully got that as a holiday plus were going to Alton towers on the 10th to renew are passes as after last years performance takeing a hour just to get one pass. Plus thorpe can iron any problems out by then instead of being a desatser like last year so yep go for it.

We'll be there at some point that weekend. Not sure which day but should be the Sunday.

Looking forward to seeing everybody again. Wonder if anything will actualy be open this year?

Wonder if they re-themed No Way Out again? Another new light bulb?
Amberrider

I'm going on Saturday 16th with Carol Hedges.  We'll look out for anyone who comes.

Nemesis Inferno
Octopus Gardens (Added)
Quantum (Added)

Stealth
Storm In A Teacup (Added)
Vortex
X:\ No Way Out
Zodiac

So 3 rides and the Octupus gardens have been added, with the only loss being Rush no longer opening.
hazzzzeeee

It is a shame the samouri is not open!
I wanted to be thrown around this weekend! Its an improvement on last year, I can't belive that quantum will be open!
bluea61

I thought we broke it for good!

Samurai was shut last year this time and it was due to the massive work it has done over the closed season. The arms were all over the floor along with the log flume boats. I wounder if anything will be like opening at 12 etc like X etc who knows. Anyone going on the sat put a report up then we know whats going on thanks guys lol  Laughing

Thorpe 16th Feb

Went to Thorpe today, gorgeous sunny day but absolutely freeeezing! Everything that Thorpe advertised as being open was open, but as usual Colossus broke down several times and in the end they closed it down, reason – it was too cold!?!  It was busy but the queues weren’t too bad, we headed for Stealth first and was on in 15 – 20 mins, Nemesis Inferno next and only waited about 25 mins, although both only had only one train on.  The worst queue of the entire day was X:\ No Way Out, somewhere between 35-40 mins.

Thanks for the low down on what we could expect tomorrow, Bonsai Warrior. Sounds like it could be a promising day. No surprise about Colossus breaking down though, it does that all the time anyway  Razz

One train on Nemesis Inferno and Stealth does not sound great. I read a report on TTF about today at thorpe saying about the poor capacity and the park having a lot of chavs in it.

They also said there is a weight limit now on Stealth, is that correct?
Bunnie

Won't be able to make it tomorrow but hope you all have a good time.

Wonder what the weight restriction is on Stealth? No doubt the guys and girls will find out tomorrow and report back  Very Happy
coastergraham

^On TTF they said it is around 17.3 st.
Bunnie

I wonder if they actually enforce that though, I mean it would be pretty bad getting to the front of the queue and being told your too fat to ride  Embarassed  Sad

Just having a look on TTF now and some of the trip reports don't sound for a promising start of season, I hope it is better for the people going tomorrow.

Two trains per ride would certainly have reduced the queues.  They may put more trains on tomorrow as that appears to be a more popular day.  I found the crowd to be a mix of everything; families, old, young, chavs, aliens like me, nothing unusual.

Don't know anything about a weight limit although we met a guy in the ride queue who said he went to a promotional day and they saw six rollbacks but I can't say how accurate that was, though it was slow going over the top first thing. How would a weight limit work? weigh the train and ask people to get off if overweight?  Big PR prob with that.
Bunnie

Oooh just re-read TTF and we may have got the wrong end of the stick...it's a weight limit on Slammer not Stealth  Embarassed

There has been a weight limit on Slammer since it was installed. Though I dont see that it has been enforced. I have not been close to 17.3stone for a long time, Nearly there now, I have never been asked to get off for being over weight.
The same is suppose to be on Altons Spinball ride. Though I find that tighter than Dragons fury. I don't think a park can say get off you are fat. discrimination would come out there.
Bunnie

I think Spinball get round it by having a total car weight of 56 stone, I vaguely remember seeing signs to that effect.

Sorry going of topic but heres a report of the day at Thorpe today.

Well what a day. The park opened at 10 and straight for stealth. We were told that all the coasters were shut due to it being below 5 degrees and it was like 2 at that point (There was ice on the nemesis track at points). After about a hour stealth was being tested. There was the odd roll back or to during test runs but nothing majour. The ride opened and stayed open all day but one train. The longest we qued was bout 20 mins and wasent that bad at all. Nemesis was next with a one train operation and in the affternoon there was two trains which had no que then for the rest of the day which was great. Slammer was working great and yes they have a weight limit but not on a person as they can hold a mass of weight and size. The ride has to be even on each side no odds and sods on each side. There is no weight limit on stealth just chest dimentions which is 51 inchs thats it you can weigh 20 stone as long as your below 51 inces chest etc. Collosus was next and this was the best part. They refused to send the coaster round with out a full train. They had to wait like 5 mins for a single rider to come along to send the train. I can see them doing this as yeah they need the weight to the train round all the inverstions. Apart from it being cold the day was great plenty of rides being done and time to chill out and wounder round. No weight limits guys just like the normal chest dimentions etc and the balancing act on slammer thats it.

Pictures of the day will be online tomos.
