Thorpe Park 29.3.09

Who went, me and Mum.
We headed straight for the Annual pass office, only to find that they had no record of us, so we had to fork out £150.
We got into the park itself and headed straight for Saw, as Mum had'nt been on it before. It decided to break down when we were in the queue, but I think it was just for a mop up  Rolling Eyes
We finally got on a little while later, and Mum came off actually rather impressed, as she does'nt usually like that type of ride. That was when we found out they are experimenting a single rider queue, which we used later on, and it seems to work, we used it twice with no problem at all. It broke down a few more times while we were there, including people getting stuck at the summit, which I witnessed from Samurai, which was on a kid's setting today.
All rides were open, so my other rides were:

Stealth 1
Colossus 1
Nemesis Inferno 1
Quantum 1
Rush 1
Samurai 1
Saw 3

Pics will be on facebook tomorrow, as I'm tired now, and have to get up at stupid O clock in the morning  Sad

Ye aren't the only ones at least...When I renewed mine on the 14th, I'd taken my old SPs and proof of my disability benefits with me to see if I could get it at the renewal rate (£100,-) especially as the only reason why I'd not renewed mine back in 2006CE was entirely because of cash-flow issues. It didn't work though... Sad

On the other hand; If ye manage to dig out thy previous SPs (Assuming they expired a month ago or later) and take them along with the receipts for thy current SPs with ye on a future visit, they should credit ye back the extra £50,- per pass if ye were elegible for the renewal rate. Cool

I'd actually visited the day before, and Saw appeared to be running fine all day. Having met a friend at the park, we queued for Saw as normal and our wait wasn't too bad for a new ride at 75 minutes...Although the fact that Thor Himself blessed the park with a rather intense and painful (At least for most people) hail storm when we were half-way through the queue probabally helped that time quite a bit! Twisted Evil

Hmm...I'd thought that they'd stopped providing SRQs on new rides, hence why there's no noticable provision for one in Saws design. May I ask how one goes about accessing this SRQ if/when it's in operation? Smile

My rides for Saturday were:
  • 1x Nemesis:Inferno
  • 1x Saw: The Ride
  • 3x Stealth
  • 2x Colossus (Ouch! Laughing )
Anyhow...Yesterday I wrote an immense 13Kb long e-mail to TP Guest Services to thank them for keeping my rather Bloodthirsty Vicerator safe (That "Saw" blade I was wearing a week ago! Twisted Evil) and to make a number of comments and suggestions - Including reinstation of SRQ and traditional (Not up-charged) Fast-Track. I imagine - Given the size of the e-mail - That it'll take a few days at least for them to consider and respond to my comments, but if there's anything of note in their reply I'll post it here when I can. Cool

You join the SRQ between the main entrance and the fastrack and it brings you into the station where the live actors do their bit in the caged area on the right. There's a staff member at that point counting groups coming in, and if there is a spare seat you join them.
