Thorpe Park 05/04/2009I wouldn't normally post a trip report for Thorpe as we go so much, but something truely amazing happened yesterday!
Well the park was the businest I have ever seen it, when we arrived at 10:30 the whole of the gravelled car park was full and we eneded up parking in the second row of the grassed area. By the time we left in the evening there were cars in every area of the car park so must have been virtually full.
Thwe park was obviously very busy, and I did think it would be pretty pants but was pleasantly suprised. We rode Inferno, Rapids and Stealth within the first hour and a half of being there before joing the Saw queue for a 130min wait. We queued with a group of girls behind us, one of which decided to be sick along a whole length of queue. We kept shuffling up to get away from her, but she kept moving in closer.
Anyway, still impressed with the ride. Also made our usual stop at the Calaypso BBQ for Ribs leaving a couple of hours left on park.
We all decided to queue again for Saw which was now 120mins! After being in the queue for about 10minutes a lad pushed his way through the queue to get to his mates! Now this annoyed Hayleys mum a little and she challeneged him, unimpressed he carried on but was clocked by the guy running the SRQ. The lad ignored him and carried on, so Hayleys mum asked why he wasn't removed. So the Thorpe guy entered the queue and challenged him, when he didn't leave the Thorpe guy got the supervisor and then later security. They actually for the first time in memory enforced the queue jump policy and saw it through! Amazing. I think they did and excellent job, and everyone around us were impressed with the outcome.
