Thinking of joining

Hi, i'm thinking of joining in the new year, but have a few questions i hope someone can answer Smile
I'm 21, f, from Birmingham.
Absolutely love coasters, i've recently been to cedar point, which was awesome, so much choice!

Just wondered roughly how many active members there are and what's the average age?
Is there a usa trip every year as this would probably sell the club to me? Very Happy
Cheers

Very Happy Hi, to answer your questions.  I am unsure how many active members there are(the chairman will know, Andy Hine but I would say in excess of 1000)  BUT at the two main trips Blackpool and Alton Towers we have in excess of 300 members turn up, the age group are from babies to pensioners, all are welcome!!  Secondly USA trips are every year, even years(2008 etc) a mini trip of about 8 days and odd years(2009 etc) a main trip of about 15 days. Costs range from £1300-£2000 all inclusive except for spending money.  Hope this helps and you do join our fun packed club of coaster nuts.  Cool

Hi Rach

Welcome to the board

I'm not sure about total members but I know that Blackpool Bash for example has around 350 attendees.

The ages of people in the club vary from babies and toddlers right the way up to 60's (I think, possibly some older). There are a lot of people in the club around the same age as you so if you joined there are plenty of people to socialise with.

I've been in the club since 2004 and there has been a USA trip every year, although not been on one yet myself unfortunately.

The people in the club are a great bunch of people and I have never once regretted joining from the friends I have made and experiences I have had.

Take a look around the message board and around the club website to get a feel for what the trips are like. For this years USA trip there has been a day by day trip report on the website and also pictures to accompany.

From my experience I'd say join, you won't regret it  Smile

Hi Rachel and Gaz,

Firstly welcome to the board.

To attend most USA trips you need to book in the membership year previous to the trip

As the trip is usually in the summer months and flights need to be booked well in advance the cut off is usually some time around the October before

So if you wish to attend next years week long trip you would need to join this year to be able to book.

I'm sure someone else can confirm the cut off date for this year

The parks being visited are (TBC)

Michigans Adventure
Indiana Beach
Holiday Word
Cedar Point
Kings Island
Nimmykins

Hi Rach

You'll find a great group of people in your age group on club trips.

Hope you join and enjoy the fun.

Welcome to the board.

From memory normally for new members signing up so late in the year they will get next years membership included as you will have missed most of the trips and magazines.

So if you do fancy next years USA trip you should join the club now and with your membership application ask for a USA trip application. Or just email Andy (AKA Nev) the club chairman, his email is andy@rccgb.co.uk

I've done several USA trips and they are absolutely amazing.

Rach there's quite an active group of members in their early 20's who do a lot of trips and have met through the club. Likewise Gaz there's quite a few of us in the early 30's. So you'll both meet lots of like minded people of similar ages.

The Blackpool Bash is a very social event, with lots of coaster riding, and is perfect for an introduction to the fun the RCCGB has.
