The Million Dollar Question...Can somebody please tell me why the club doesn't have an annual event at Thorpe Park please? Is it simply that they won't accommodate us (hard to believe), or that we haven't got around to organising it (again, hard to believe)? I'm sure this must be the 'local' park for lots of members, and with their fine collection of rides, surely it's a must?!

The club visits a variety of parks each year and with the exception of Blackpool/Alton/Drayton & Oakwood visit different parks year, I believe we have been there the opening year of Collouous (sp), Inferno and Stealth,
3 times in the last 6 years or so

I guess it could be that a lot of regualr trip goers make regualr trips to Thorpe. I don't mean everyone but a lot.

Good point Steve. I guess if it is the local park for a lot of members, the need might not be there for an event. Still, it would be a good social occasion surely!
I'm sorry to say I've yet to visit! I just get the impression that Thorpe is the AT of London, and what with the addition of a major ride almost evey year the last few or so, Thope surely warrants an annual trip?

Thorpe Park would be one to do next year as for the new Gustler Eurofighter.

I really hope the Eurofighter lives up to its planning applications. They made a good job with the artwork so lets hope they can deliver.

I totally agree. On last year's trip to Dollywood, i was very impressed with the themeing that went into the Mystery Mine coaster. It made a good ride even better! If only we got that level of themeing consistently this side of the Atlantic

I think the other important thing is maintaining it as well. Tidal Wave was excellent when it opened, now the its really going down hill. Bring back the fireball!!

I find that with all the rides at Thorpe though. Example being Nemesis Inferno. What happened to the vents outside before you get into the station, and no suprises, the tunnel after the station, which reminds me now more of the final brake run on the Vampire at CWOA.
And I agree with Blue, bring back the fireball. The reason it does'nt work now is that, during the construction of Stealth they cut through the line connecting it, or something. So I heard anyway.

There are lots of factors to be taken into account when planning trips. But rest assured Thorpe Park is 'penciled in' for 2009 - Im just waiting for confirmation of opening dates for the new coaster.
As Krusty said we have visited the park 3 times in 6 years and were the first group to get ERS's on Nemesis Inferno, Collosus and Stealth!
We will be the first when they get some wood too!!
