Archive for RCCGB FORUM Message Board for Members of the Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain to discuss club events and all things theme park related.          RCCGB FORUM Forum Index -> Trip Planning Coaster Police Teignmouth Pier (Devon) - Go Gator!!!! 26th April Hi all, I've spoken to a few people about this already (smiler, Stevie B etc.) as they are reasonably close to Devon on the M5, however, it appears that there is a little known about Go Gator coaster on the pier in Teignmouth. I have spoken to the owner of this, and he's happy for a group of us to come along and ride it. He has also said that he'll have some fun and get the local press involved for a bit of publicity as he doesn't often get groups of people from a coaster club turning up to ride a go gator!!! I have arranged with the owner to do this the weekend following the Blackpool Bash... so the date will be Sunday 26th April 2009. The pier/coaster opens at 10:00 so, we can all meet there for a take over of this, and a bit of fun for an hour or so. There's not much else there, so when we're finished, we can head over to Crealy (just the other side of Exeter) for the rest of the day and show some support to this Park also to make a day of it. So there you go. Smiler etc are up for this, so if you are interested.....let us know below and i'll add more info nearer the time   Happy Helen No there is not much at Teignmouth Peir, so I would highly recommend a visit to Crealy as there is plenty there for adults and children. I have been twice and it has certainly changed over the years. Vicci may come along but wants nothing to do with the publicity or riding the Go-Gator. LOL Says she is going off to do something else or hide. But up for the trip and Crealy. Needing the Crealy credits and hope to do the park before they have problems and have to remove the rides. Devon's Crealy is a fun place, you'll enjoy the El Pastil Loco Family Rollercoater.  It's a steelie whereby one go is two laps.  A family coaster, so quite tame (no AIRtime), but fun to ride again and again all the same.  You'll also like the log flume (take rain gear not to get wet), the swinging pirate ship (you'll probably feel sick after more than a couple of goes on that though - it's not as re-ridable as the coaster), Honey swing (chair-o-plane), dotto train, etc.  Finally make sure you have a couple of hours in the Adventure Zone, an enormous soft play area with Astra slides and drop slides.  Adults (or should I say adult kids) are allowed to play on everything in there. So what i'll do is say about 10 of us ish. Everyone's welcome, so if anyone wants to just turn up on the day - the more the merrier! Anyway, simply meet at the Pier at 10:00 sunday morning! After i've spoken to him, if there's more to add, i'll post here. Once we're done and have all experienced the thrills of a new Go Gator, we can head to Crealy for the rest of the day. This will be Thomas's 2nd Go-Gator coaster and 2 new credits for him. He needs to get to that 50th coaster this year   Only 13 to go till he makes it. Coaster Police Spoke to the bloke today for final confirmation... I said there would be about 10 of us, maybe a few more, maybe a few less.... he seemed surprised that 10 would turn up! Hehe! Anyway, he said that although he may consider installing a new grip rail, if it's damp we can't all go together, so I explained that we know the perils of overloading a go gator, and we'll all be fine. Anyway... meet at the Pier in Teignmouth at 10:00 Sunday morning (26th April)... the pier opens then, so we should be scratching by 10:15.
