A good article and interesting to see that claims of Rattler being a rough-ride are not exaggerated, even allowing for it being a tamed version of the original.

Wow , some great quotes in that story.
Heads up , Ryan.
"If you had to design a device that injured people's necks and backs, you couldn't have done any better than the Rattler,"
THAT ONE PRETYY WELL SUMS IT UP.
Thompson said. "In doing so, they overstepped the bounds of human tolerance."
uh , yea.
Kelly Cooper of San Antonio wrote in an Oct. 11, 1992 letter: "I don't agree with people always finding one way or another to sue. However, I must tell you that (the Rattler) was the most painful ride I'd ever been on! I mean, it actually hurt to ride it."
She knows what she is talking about.
And then this guy...
Gary Slade, a member of American Coaster Enthusiasts, called the Rattler "breathtaking" the day it opened. "I rode the Rattler at full speed and I can describe it in two short words — smooth and fast," Slade told the San Antonio Express-News in a March 15, 1992, article.
ACE member. Does anything else need to be said?
Thanks for posting this Reg. Its all yours Ryan, watchugot?

Actually Rattler is pretty good. It is one of the best coasters in the park and needs be ridden over and over. For all those doing the 2011 trip you should stay on it all day. Sadly that day I've got to go ride the amazing Superman Krypton Coaster, sorry I mean I'll have a migraine so will have to miss out on everything. Just don't waste you're time queueing for Superman Krypton Coaster, it's rubbish, go ride Rattler instead.

Oh!.....and most of the club...HA!
For those who haven't seen the clip of the "RATTLER BEND" just go onto you tube and type in Rattler Bend, and then sit back and enjoy the clip and see how smooth the ride is. Especially with just a very very small amount of track movement
