Paultons Park - Sun 15th March (Meridian TV Region)

Hi all.

A great day was had at Paultons Park (a.k.a. Zamperla Land) today. We all turned up ontime in the car park about 09:30. Park opened ontime and we trundled over to The Edge for the new ride, after a short wait, it all opened ontime at 10:30. And first impressions.... very good ride (i've been on an identical one in Europe before), and it didn't disappoint. The general concensus from the group is that it's an excellent ride (and ERS freindly - not that it's a coaster!).

It's very smooth, quick and represents a reasonably major investment for Pautlons. Also, being next to the Cobra, makes that end of the park a very nice area with the two bigger rides.

Following that, we did the Cobra and on the way out, passed a large group from Coaster Force who were also on Park today. We worked our way round the park sampling everything... and yes, thats everything (wait to see people's uploaded pictures!!). Smiler had fun with an ancestor called a Smiladon (some kind of dinasaur) and got rather muddy when attempting the family reunion.

The park is very tidy and clean, and well maintained - everything was working without any failures. The weather was great (i think I caught the sun as i was hot in the car home). So, the only criticism that we have is the price of the catering, it does seem a little on the high side, but thats usual in a theme park with a captive audience.

So all told, a great day out! Thanks to Rich, Jess, Stevie B, Vicci, Hayley, Stephen B, Steve C, and Harvey (OMG, 3 Steve's in the group, only noticed just then!!)

Highlight of the day? Hmm, probably dragging the Zamperla on-site engineer into the group photo!

See ya!

Had a great day at Paultons today, arriving approximately 09:53:52 for park opening at 10. The Edge was an excellent ride and probably the best kind of Disko. The throughput seemed large and will be a great ride for the park. Very popular today. Even managed to nab Luigi the Zamperla man!

Nice to be able to take it easy and ride everything in the park. I never knew we could ride so much! And also so educational, I never knew Richard "Smilodon" Jones was descendant from dinosaurs.

Thanks everyone who showed up today had a good laugh. I'll try and upload some photos tomorrow.

Met up with me mate in dinosaur land got a bit muddy tho  Laughing . All in all a fantatsic day great weather and good met up. O and every ride in the whole park complete even the kids drop tower thing (Thanks Steve for lendding the kids  Laughing ) Left the park at 4:54.23 secs. Were be back next year to see whats new this great park has to offer.

Another enjoyable visit to this park, has such a lovely atmosphere and everyone is pleasent. The edge was great! I am surprised at the re-ride ability.
The cobra is still really smooth, just like the ERS we had on it 2 years ago.
You all have missed one very important ride which we all got on! The Ladybird!!!!

Overall a very good day out, and it was great to have a catch up with everyone!

Thats the Rabbit Ride I think, or is it the Mouse ride, or is it Mabbit. Prehaps its the Gary Mabbut ride. I can't quite remember the name.

Me Mum and Tonia went there on the saturday, as a few of you know. On exiting Edge for the first time, Mark Taylor, the park MD who gave us our Cobra workshop tour, took us aside and asked what we thought of the new ride.
They will be building a locker for bags, as we asked why there wasn't anywhere to put them, apart from clogging up the exit.

That rides got at least 10 cameras on it  Laughing  even tho you can see the whole ride from the station. The ladybird ride was great and that space ship thing near the mini miami.

Arrived at Paultons 09:50 today, not many other people at this time, got a parking space in front row. (By 2pm the car park was full)

Very impressed with The Edge - cool ride! However the rear restraint seems a bit fierce, it rises up slowly then thumps into your back - makes everyone go "oooh".

Cobra was great fun too.  Although both these rides were busy, the throughput was very good, only a few minutes to queue each time (is that a "Saw" point?!!)

I also went on Pirate Ship, Stinger, Kon Tiki, Sky Swinger, Dragon Roundabout and Raging River.  Looked at the animals and birds and watched the penguins being fed.

Finished off the day by heading over to Poole Quay to see my biker mates.
