I`m in two minds at the moment about going to see the new Rob Zombie version of Halloween.

Firstly due to me being a traditionalist and loyal to the original and hate attempts at remakes of classics.
Secondly because i have watched every Halloween film and am traumatized at the thought of yet more lame sequels. They finally put this character to rest after dozens of spin of films and now its back again. From the start.

I love the Michael Myers character and collect movie maniac memorabilia and have over 600 horror films. Yet i`m now sick of this franchise.

My other mind is, i love going to see horror films. It may be a great film. Putting modern life into a great story.
Why can`t they create new characters and stories? Saw and Final Destination are great modern horror franchises.

I went to see Atonement yesterday. Really enjoyed it.

They showed an extended trailer of 'Elizabeth' with Cate Blanchet playing the queen. I'm really looking forward to this when it comes out.

What I'm most looking forward to this month is the new David Cronenberg - Eastern Promises - especially as the lead is played by someone I'm rather fond (understatement Wink

) of!!

I must say this has been the year for remakes on films. I will go and see Halloween as I want to see what a mess they have made of it. I also think this time around they are running out of ideas. Die Hard 4.0, Indian Jones 4, to come,Rambo 4, Coming, Rocky 6 . There are more but brain is dead now.

I have to say i was really impressed with the story and it made me jump in a few places which is always a bonus. Plus it has one of the most interesting story twists at the end i`ve seen. I should have seen it coming and it was obvious and makes it scarier as it could make it all real.

Was also really interested in this trailer for Will Smiths new film. Was looking around You Tube and it could be a remake of a UK film but it still looks excellent and my type of film. Interesting with scares and i love the whole Zombie virus thing.

The weird thing is. I looked at my clock at 11.12pm. (11+12=23)
Then looked at my video clock, which for some reason has reset itself, it runs of TV signals to set it. It is running an hour later. The time on the video clock said 00.23am. (23)
I then again checked the time at 11.32. 32 being 23 backwards.

How freaky is that? I`m not even making it up.

Was going to see PS. I Love You tonight, but rapidly changed my mind after being told that the papers only rated it 4/10.

Instead I went to see I Am Legend and it was really good, probably the first film in a long time that really scared me. It made me jump in so many places! I'm probably going to have nightmares for weeks now Laughing

Watched two DVD's last night that I have never seen before, Borat and Transformers.

I'm not usually into silly humour but Borat made me laugh and cheered me up, not sure whether I would watch it again though to be honest.

I really loved Transformers though Very Happy

Me and Steve went to see I am legend last night. I was on edge the whole way through! I couldn't watch some of it because it was to jumpy! Or was it just me that was like it?

Has anyone else seen it if so what did you think?

I Am Legend was a brilliant film. It had me on the edge of my seat for most of it. The bits where the dog goes into the dark. Plus where he is caught in the trap upside down and the infected dogs are waiting for sun down. A great movie.

Personally i`m now looking forward to seeing the new Aliens Vs Predator movie. Being a huge fan of the books and The Alien and Predator series. I watched the first Aliens VS Predator in Universal Studios Florida. I was not impressed and felt they had ruined there chance and creating alassis. They damaged both brands. Having seen the trailers for the new one though, its looking a lot more realistic and more story based as well.

I am now in two minds about whether it really was Jack Sparrow. Was it really Sweeney Todd? Todd really reminds me of Jack Sparrow for some strange reason?

Am going to see Sweeney Todd this evening. Not a fan of musicals at all, but have to say I am intrigued, and the partnership of Burton and Depp have rarely put a foot wrong in the past.

I'm looking forward to seeing Sweeny Todd to, despite not being a fan of musicals. But this just looks too good to miss!
Jonny Depp is one of my favourite actors anyway. He's so versatile.

I saw Cloverfield while I was in the US last week. It was reasonable, but had the same kind of 'pointlessness' to it that Lost has. No explanation, no reason for any of the events. Not that thats a bad thing. As a mindless fantasy disater movie, it ticks all the boxes. Just don't expect anyhting to cerebral.

Oohh Nimmy you must let me know what that's like. Saw the Bee movie a few weeks ago with my son it was ok. I wouldn't even call it chewing gum for the brain. Quite fancy going to see "Sweeny Todd" as well

Just thought I'd share .... Don't know if any of you have a Cineworld cinema local to you, but this is our local 'chain' and they do an 'Unlimited' card which is great value if you're a regular cinema goer like me and hubby.
Costs 11.99 per month and you can go as often as you like to any Cineworld. We go at least once a week which when you consider the £6 ticket price makes the card well worth the money.
Also cos you've pre paid it we've found we've gone to see films that we probably would not have considered and have seen some excellent films

What is wrong the directors these days?

Why are they splitting films into two parts when the book was clearly one.

The Hobbit for example....why is this being split into two parts when they managed to condense the Lord of the Rings into three films.

Also Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is being split into two parts, which I don't mind as much because the book was long with lots of important bits to it, but why are they releasing the films months apart from each other? Talk about trying to drag things out.

Anyway enough of my ranting, haha Laughing

Have recently watched several films I'd not seen before and really enjoyed:

Black Sheep - horror/comedy, it's one of those ones thats so bad it's good

Aeon Flux - action, good storyline with lots of plot twists

Hard Candy - psychological thriller, which was good but not quite as good as I had expected.

Saw 4 - I was a bit dubious about this as it was another sequel, but so far the Saw films have not disappointed, however this one I could predict what was going to happen based on the last ones.

Paradise Lost - Really good film recommended to me by a work colleague, not for the faint hearted though as it is a little bit gruesome.

Still sitting on my shelf to watch is Pans Labyrinth, but I want to make sure I am in the right mood to truly enjoy it.

Me and Vicci have seen two horror films in the last few weeks. We saw The Eye which was a bit strange. About a woman who receives an eye transplant after being blind. Then starts to see ghosts and her life goes bad. A good idea but very strange open ended.

Then i was dragged to see Teeth which will be a hoot to some of the women but a nasty one for the guys. Was not the cheap budget film i expected and it gave some good gore fest and laughs. However, can`t really talk about the film anymore on a family read site lol. Was a good laugh in the end though, comedy horror at its best.

Then few days ago watched the latest Nania film. Was darker than the first and was actually very good.

Better made than the BBC mini series in the late 1980`s. Then made a fool of myself at the cinema by sitting on the cardboard thrown on the advertising lol.

The new Nania film was good a better film than the first. Then again so was the Incredible Hulk as well more to the film.

One last film Hancock by Wil Smith a must see film for all Wil Smith fans. It is not his best by a long chalk but it is a great film to go and see.

I am hoping to go and see Mist this week have. I will have to travel to see this one as not on near to me.

I've not seen any of the Narnia films. I ought to really as I've read all seven books.

Does anyone know if they're all going to be adapted? If so, it seems it's in publishing order rather than chronological.

Dark Night was a great film. Best Batman film to date and Heath Ledger was great as the Joker. He played a psycho with style lol. Bit sad they killed Harvey Two-Face because he could have been used as the heel for the next Batman film. Guess they never had hindsight about Heath Ledger innit. Very dark and cool film. Not like the joke that was once Batman and Robin. That film really killed my liking for Batman films but Dark night revived it.

Gonna have to go see Saw 5, although Saw 4 was worst in my opinion. Loved the first 3 instalments. Can`t wait for the related coaster at Thorpe Park next year. Surprised Thorpe would go with that type of theaming as a family park, but I'm well up for it Cool

Problem is i can`t see Saw with Vicci, she really hated the last few horror films i took her to. I need to start taking her to more happy films innit Laughing

She liked Mirrors, as did i but was cringing the whole time. Then my worst mistake was taking her to see Eden Lake. Have to dull down my horror love innit lol

I would'nt class Thorpe as a family park. Never seen the saw films, gave up on horror films, as they don't really scare me that much. I'll stick with the disaster films.

Watched Saw 5 tonight and quite enjoyed it, even though there was not enough gore or elaborate deaths for my liking Razz

After following films so far am curious how they are going to progress it onto Saw 6, liking how the plot twists and turns.

While we were there noticed two trailers for films that look good, Scar 3D and Quarantine Very Happy

Also whilst browing International Movie Database noticed that Final Destination 4 (which will be 3D) is out next year too.

Saw Ghost Town yesterday, which was enjoyable but very predicatble! predicted pretty much the whole story from about 20 mins in!
