More madness from BPB

Yet another great decision has been made from the powers that be at BPB.

For this month only you can get the season pass for next year for £125 saving £64.60. Sounds ok until you think of the following.

- BPB told people they had until the end of September to buy them at the sale price of £125
- After that they then went to £150 for a short time whilst the passes went on sale to locals for £99
- Then after this they reverted to the full price of £189.60.

So after people have paid £125 months ago when they did not need to, or £150 before they went to full price BPB now do the dirty on them.

Are BPB hell bent on losing all the enthusiasts of the park as some times that seems to be what they want.

To be honest I think it sounds like they are trying to attract new custom rather than turn it away. I think in the current financial state its good, as people will see it as more affordable and maybe think I could go as many times as I want, which would increase spend on other items, food etc. And in theory increase the spend across the tourist attractions of Blackpool.

I would imagine many regular goers would have renewed in September.

Thing is I know of two people who bought the passes back in September when they did not really have the money at the time, they did so as they were led to believe that they would not get it at this price again.

I also know one person who could not afford it in September but with birthday money bought it in October for £150.

Needless to say all 3 people are far from happy with this latest development.

Sales come and go. The likes of DFS, Argos, Homebase etc. often do sales and advertise special prices for a limited time only and then a few months later the deal gets repeated. I think this is just another sign that PBB is struggling and is having to do another discount sale to try and boost sales of the season passes.

The season passes are stupidly expensive, for once they make the Merlin pass look good value for money.

Its obviously a sign they in for a fight like most other comapnies, I bet they didn't plan to bring the sale price back its just the way of the economy. Prehaps also this is due to pressure because of the rides closed/shows shut.

I don't think they will plan to bring to bring back sale the sale price as I don't think the season pass will be worth the money with the majority of the rides being closed.

We were told we had to renew our son's season pass by 30th November in order to qualify for the "Locals" rate. We actually renewed it mid Dec & still got that rate. Our neighbour renewed last week & got the £99 local rate.

Just all say you live here.....that'll put a stop to their creative pricing  Laughing

On a serious note though, it's about time they did something for the local people - the kids that are there after school, weekends & when it's chucking it down keep that place going in quieter times. It would have been better if they had dropped the prices for locals rather than increasing them for everyone else...but this IS the pleasure beach we are talking about!
