Michael Jackson

Still not confirmed but not looking good  Sad

My thoughts go out to his family and friends if the worst is confirmed
Rogue

Different websites saying different things, Sky is saying he has passed away and CNN are saying he's in a coma.

Either way things arn't good  Sad

My parents always said it was just a faze i was going through when i was a little kid.

I never grew out of it and i never will. I would give up coasters along time before Michel Jackson's music!

Having taken abuse for years and defended him with a passion and anger at times. Bought everything i could over 25 plus years. Loved every bit of it and every song.

I`m not one of the people jumping on the bandwagon now he has died. I was there all along.

The greatest show on earth has just closed its curtain.

R.I.P. The King Of Pop
Magic

BBC news is only saying he was rushed to hospital. BBC has tighter rules on reporting things than Sky. Sometimes it means they're slow on reporting things sometimes it means they don't get it wrong. Personaly I fear that on this occasion Sky are right and he has sadly passed away.

Update there is currently a news flash on BBC1. So sad news indeed. My thoughts are with his friends and family and those who loved and enjoyed his talent.
Rogue

My thoughts are with his family, friends and loyal fans who have followed him over the years.

Just hope the media will allow him to rest in peace
Death

Before I start: Apologies for my username in this case...It's purely coincidental and not intentional. Smile

I must admit that I didn't know about this at all until just now when I logged into Twitter, noticed that the site was struggling to keep up with current user load, and I saw one of my friends tweets referring to it. Shocked

Anyhow...I have to confess that I wrote it off as another Internet hoax at first (After all, who can forget that e-mail that went around a few years ago?) and I was highly sceptical until I quantified what people were saying on Twitter with what was on BBC News.

At the moment, I'm still refusing to believe that MJ is actually deceased until one of the Beebs own news team confirms what other sites and channels have said so far - Especially as many channels will misreport things (So they'll say "MJ has died" as opposed to "MJ has had a cardiac arrest and is in hospital") to gain higher viewer numbers. Neutral

Either way though...If the initial reports turn out to be true, then it will be a very sad day indeed for the world of entertainment. Although I'm no MJ fan myself (Though I do like one or two of his songs) I do know just how well loved and respected he is by his fans, and today alone - Assuming the reports are true - Is going to be a very tragic day for those like Big Steve B who have been stalwart fans of MJ since the beginning. I know that I'd feel exactly the same if any members of BAL-SAGOTH passed away in similar circumstances... Sad

Farewell for now, and - If these reports turn out to be in troth - My full condolencies unto MJs family, friends, and all of his fans...

P.S: According to a friend up the road, reports received whilst writing this post seem to have verified initial fears. I'll wait until full confirmation comes through, but again it isn't looking good... Sad

Sky news has just confirmed via the LA corener that Michael Jackson has died of "cardiac arrest".
My thoughts are with his family especially his 3 children.

I was half asleep when Paul told me this last night, and now I'm awake early I've just checked the BBC because I thought I was dreaming.

My first thoughts are with his three children. It's difficult for us to imagine what they're going through now and the difficulties they will face in the future without him.

His family must be inconsolable with grief, just as his fans are.

I am not to be a hypocrite by saying I was a great fan of Michael Jackson. I am shocked not saddened by this news of his death. I think he is now passed on to a world where he can have peace from the world which he so greatly lived in. The media attention he was so brought into will soon all be gone. We will remember him today for a few weeks but news will die down and he will finally R I P.
A legend has left this world one we will all remember like Elvis, Hendrix and so many others.

Something interesting for you.

If you attended either of the USA trip that visited Beech Bend in Kentucky and you rode the Sea Dragon (pirate ship), you rode one of Michael's old rides.  Yes Beech Bend purchased it from him when he hit hard times and it was moved from Neverland to Beech Bend!
Did you sit in a seat that Jacko sat in himself?
Steven Burns

I`ve always called Beach Bend pikey Park lol. Right back we all go then lol.

Nev, can you find out where the Go-Gator/Dragon thing went then?  Very Happy
Andy Hine MBE

Apparently it's just rotting there!

Here are the other rides that were at Neverland:

Big Eli Bridge Eagle-16 Ferris Wheel
Chance 50' Grand Carrousel
Chance Zipper
Chance Sea Dragon
Eyerly Spider
Zierer Wave Swinger
Majestic 2700 Scooter
Zamperla Lolli-Swing
Zamperla Samba Balloon
Wisdom Dragon Wagon
Dartron Super Slide
Hampton Umbrella Combination
Zamperla Pete' Dragon
Zamperla Rio Grande Train

Would be nice if they put a park back there and opened up the place as a Michael Jackson memorial park/museum. All he wanted was for people to enjoy themselves and be nice to see it returned to its former glory.

I`m so pleased he didn`t die while i was on the USA trip. Or the funeral to have taken place then, as i would have had to left the trip and made a pilgrimage to the funeral or California. Plus it would have ruined the trip and got me down.

I asked my manager if i could take time off for the funeral and he said no. I hate him. I always wanted to be one of the people outside the court house when he was found not guilty on all charges.

Who knows but hope they do open it like Elvis did.
Steven Burns

I found Neverland on Google Earth. Never looked at it before and its like Pleasureland Southport in that its not been updated for a few years. So you can look at it as it was in its prime. You can see the rides and even the kiddie coaster.

I do hope they make it a memorial for him.

Hail all! Twisted Evil
Despite not being a fan of MJ, I've been watching with close interest the arrangements concerning refunds for those who would've been attending MJs shows had they been going ahead...And I have to say that I'm especially disgusted at AEG Live's approach to it all! Evil or Very Mad

For those who havn't looked into refund arrangements yet, what AEG have basically done is to force MJ fans into making a choice between the following options:
  1. Full refund: Refund of all ticket(s) and booking fee(s) paid, but with no form of keepsake or other memerobilia in relation to the planned events, or
  2. "Fufilment": The original ticket(s) will be sent out to buyer(s) as a souvenir of the event that can no longer happen - But this is in lieu of a refund, and no monies in relation to ticket nor booking fee will be returned.
To clarify my own (Rather disgusted) views on the matter, I'll quote a post that I stuck up on the Speak Out about AEG petition on Maximum Jackson about half an hour ago...
DieselDragon (On Maximum-Jackson.com) wrote:
Personally, I wasn't a dedicated fan of Michael Jackson like the majority of people here (My main musical interest being Black Metal) but at the same time I'm likewise extremely disgusted by the way that AEG are trying to profiteer off of Michael Jacksons death in this way. I thought that the touts all over eBay were bad enough...But what AEG is trying to pull here goes beyond and below even that! Evil or Very Mad

Personally, I would say that everyone should receive their original tickets and a full refund...And the only thing taken for any souvenir tickets issued should be either £1.00 or the original booking fee.
Although I admit that I'm not in the same situation as most others on this petition, I know that my feelings would be the same if Wacken Open Air was cancelled one year and ICS GmbH offered me the same option! Mad

So this petition/debate has my full support in every way...And in my view (Or indeed, any reasonable person's view) what AEG are trying to get away with here is not only downright disrespectful, but also nothing short of a ten ton kick in the painful bits to thousands of people just for being fans of Michael Jackson! Evil or Very Mad

Incidentally...What about the tickets themselves? If this "Lenticular" process isn't tightly controlled and it was possible to get hold of some design masters, wouldn't it be cheaper and just as genuine as the "real" thing for you all to have your own souvenir tickets privately printed? Wink
So to put it quite bluntly: Dedicated and faithful fans of Michael Jackson are being forced to choose between getting their money back (As per their statutory legal rights) but having no form of keepsake of MJs last planned tour, or getting a bit of card as a souvenir which - Though of immense sentimental value to any MJ fan - Is nowhere near worth the £50-75 (In pure fiscal terms) that they'll effectively lose in obtaining said souvenir! Evil or Very Mad

Now personally, I think the whole thing stinks worse than my socks ever could, and I'm seriously hoping that someone instigates a lawsuit against AEG for such unforgivable profiteering on the back of MJs death. Offering souvenir tickets at no more than £1.00 each only to those who had previously managed to obtain real ones would be one thing, and maybe reasonable in some ways...But what they are doing in this case goes far beyond the realms of bang out of order in my own opinion... Evil or Very Mad

Anyhow...What I'm mainly interested in is the views of everyone else about the forum. I know that we have at least one person who managed to get a ticket to the event in question, and I'd be especially interested to hear his views on the whole matter as well as everyone else's. Smile

Farewell for now...And if anyone knows the MD of AEG Live; PLEASE give him the heartiest kick in the knackers that ye can on behalf of every wronged MJ fan! Twisted Evil
