Manta at Sea WorldsSea World in Florida have officially announced plans for Manta, a themed B&M flying coaster, to open in Summer 2009.
Guests will walk through a heavily themed queueing and observation area where they will come face to face with 300 live rays and thousands of other fish.
After viewing the magnificent creatures guests will board Manta Ray themed coaster trains that have wing span of 12 feet. Gliding, swooping and diving up to nearly 60 mph, through four inversions on 3,359 feet of track, at heights of upto 140 feet, riders will feel as if they are a ray, taking flight effortlessly from sky to sea — so close at times that the Manta’s wings skim the waves.
Manta is being constructed just inside the main entrance to the park and is sure to be a spectacular signature ride to entice guests.

That could be amazing.
But will the reality live up to the promise? Time will tell

It is like Air at Alton Towers which was amazing as you really felt like you were actually flying !

This sounds so great. The promise of a smooth exiting ride and themed the way it is. Seeing all those rays up close in nice surroundings is great without the added ride to round it all off.

Air is one of the better flying coasters , the superman rides at six flags aren't that good, but they are smooth compared to the vekoma versions ! Hopefully Manta will be well themed and the water feature should be excellent !
