London Dungeon v`s The London Bridge ExperienceAt the weekend me, Carol and Vicci were in London and decided to take a visit to the Dungeon. When getting off the tube we were greeted with the normal living dead characters you find outside London Bridge.
However, this time they were not from the Merlin attraction next door. They were from the new London Bridge and London Toombs attraction just over the road.

They asked if we were attending the Dungeon and offered us a deal for there attraction. They were really temping offers as well. They said if we took a group of us we could all get in on group rate and discounts if we talk to the right people. But we decided to go with the Dungeon so Vicci could ride Extremis. By the time we left time was running out and we left the free visit we had been offered after the noticed the club jackets and our previous chat.
When i was speaking to the rep for The London Bridge Experience outside, i asked him in as a joke if there was a war of the living dead going on between the attractions now. He said yes. Merline had decided to sew the new attraction for copyright. Even though they offer different content but a similar scary theme. What must really hurt the Dungeon across the road, is that the new attraction has taken the title of London's Scariest attraction.
Was thinking it would be interesting for some of us to give both attractions a visit on the same day. Compare the both and have an after fright night isn't it. Plus try the new attraction before we lose it, if Merline bullies it away or wins. From the outside and the web site, it does look really great. The rooms look like an all year horror maze too.

The battle between Merlin and London Bridge Experience has gotten very serious with a legal case underway.
In a statement, Merlin said that it is taking the "unprecedented" action as it believes that the London Bridge Experience, which opened earlier this year, is an attempt to copy its own London Dungeon attraction.
"We believe that the London Bridge Experience is transparently designed to mirror the London Dungeon's concept and marketing positioning.
Its location, just yards from the London Dungeon, compounded by its copycat marketing literature and promotional activity are, we feel, deliberately intended to confuse visitors and to unlawfully trade off the high quality, goodwill and reputation of Merlin's own long established attraction."
I beleive part of a previous case would have meant the owners of the London Bridge Experience couldn't even enter their building because of a restirciton prohibiting employees going within a certain distance of the London Dungeons, London Bridge was within that cordon.
As for the London's Scariest Attraction claim, that was awarded to the London Bridge Experience by www.hauntedattractions.co.uk so it's a fair title to use.
Agree a trip to both attractions on the same day would be a good idea and publish the results in AIRtime.

Well i`m sure myself and Smiler can deal with that one. Maybe Rich would be shy about getting his face in airtime again though? lol
We spoke today about doing a day at both horror attractions. Also doing the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park and the London Fair at Wembley. Make a day of it all.
Love the new Jack The Ripper bit in the Dungeon but on Sunday a lot of the actors were just going through the motions. Be interesting to see how good the cast are in the London Experience.
Anybody else fancy this? The Guy at London Experience, i have his card, said he could work us a good deal for a group.
