Hello, I'm new!

Hi,
My names Serena, I was really excited to receive my RCCGB membership pack in the post this week Smile

Am going to come along to the Saw-ted trip, Thorpe Park is my faverote theme park in England and Saw The Ride looks awesome Very Happy but I am alittle bit nervous about not knowing anyone!

Also, would anyone be able to suggest the best way for a non driver to get to Thorpe Park from Bristol?
Andy Hine MBE

Welcome Serena,

Don't be nervous, we are a real coster crazy bunch and you'll soon feel part of the crowd.  Come and see me on the morning and I'll introduce you to a few of the crowd!

Reference travel.  I would say get a fast train from Bristol to Reading, then change onto the train to Stanes.  Then take the bus to Thorpe Park.  The train journey in just under 2hrs.

Or...in the UK Trips section of the Message Board, go to the Thorpe Park SAW-TED topic and ask if anyone is coming from the Bristol area who has a spare seat!  Very Happy

Hi Serena!

Welcome to the club! You'll soon know many people and feel part of the group and start meeting people from the second you turn up outside the gates of Thorpe. Hope you have a great day, and see you then!

Welcome Serena. We're fast approaching my first anniversary of being part of the RCCGB. Last years Blackpool Bash was my first trip and this years early addition of a visit to Thorpe for SAW-TED is sure going to be a superb opener for the 2009 season.

Hello Serena, welcome to the board.

Hope you enjoy posting here.

I am relatively new to the club too, as I did my first trip in 2007 and I was feeling a bit nervous too, there is no need for you to be as we are a very friendly bunch.

You will love Thorpe Park. I went there over a decade ago and it would have changed a lot.

Welcome to Fight Club. Remember, the first rule about fight club, is don`t mention fight club!  Rolling Eyes

Only kidding. Depending on your age, there are a number of large groups in the club that adopt people and include everybody. I found quite a few people to link up with very fast. Sure you will be just fine.
My girlfriend Vicci (Meep) and Smiler are from close by in Cheltenham. I`m there every weekend also and looking to move to the area.
I know National Express do Fun fairs from Bristol from around £5 one way. Only takes about 2 and half hours. They are also very regular, that's if you cannot find a lift and want to save money.

Hi Serena and welcome.
Hope you come to Blackpool too.

Hi Serena,
My name is Catherine and i'm a new member too = very exciting. I'm going to the Saw-Ted trip and obviously, like you, it'll be my first trip. I'm also feeling a bit nervous about not knowing anyone, but the folks on this forum seem to be really friendly so i'm sure everything is going to go great. Hopefully i'll bump into you in the morning and we can hang out as "newbies" together.
Cheers,
Cat

Hi Serena.

Welcome to this fantastic social club called RCCGB. You should definately try and get to Blackpool - it's one of the busiest trips of the year. And you'll make loads of friends there too.

Dont forget to say Hi

Death

Hail and Welcome to the RCCGB, Serena! Cool
Sorry I didn't reply and welcome ye sooner, I havn't been able to log in to the board much recently. Here's hoping that ye had a fun and excellent time on the SAWted trip, though! Smile

Anyhow...If ye are coming to Blackpool as well, feel free to say hello! I realise that I may look a little bit intimidating to people at first (Come on...How many people walk around with Bloodstained hedge-strimmer blades strapped to their arm? Laughing) but in actual fact I'm just as friendly and approachable as everyone else in the Club. Smile

Farewell for now, and hope to see ye at Blackpool if ye are coming! Twisted Evil

Hi Serena

It was an unexpected chance encounter meeting you in the bus queue outside Staines railway station last Saturday morning.  Sorry I became separated from you and the others near SAW so soon after being admitted.  I was speaking to a Ranger about the scheduled SAW and Stealth takeovers, and that's how I became separated.

Sadly I don't recall us seeing each other again all day.  How did you get on in the end?  Did you manage to get many rides in at Thorpe Park?  Here's my report about SAW-Ted:The Trip.  Altogether, did you enjoy your day at Thorpe Park?

I still strongly suggest you attend the Blackpool Bash rather than Loopathon, for the reasons I explained to you on the bus.

As I said on the bus, I've been a member since March 2005, and still only know a few members, partly due to the fact that so far I've only attended eight trips since joining, including SAW-Ted last Saturday.

I look forward to meeting you again on a future Club trip sometime (whenever), and in the meantime, happy coasting.

Nemesis Nick
