Grand National

There is a horse running in Saturdays Grand National called "In the Loop".
Its currently 100-1.  This is not a tip, just thought you might fancy a dabble with a coaster related name.  Its gotta be worth a quid each way!
Of course, you'll have to check on Fri/Sat to make sure it is definately running.

If it wins, you'll have enough money for the proper Grand National at the Blackpool Bash...  and a few beers too...!

I won a bit of money last year with Comply or Die and Snowy Morning  Very Happy

Will probably have a bet this year, quite liking the sounds of State of Play and Hear the Echo

I think Comply or Die is running again this year...

The odds on that one are so-so at the moment.

I've just seen one called Offshore Account at 33-1, wouldn't it be ironic if this horse won  Laughing
Rough Rider

There was a horse running last week called Superrollercoaster, I was telephoned by a mate about it and I just had to put money on it.
IT WON @ 9-2.
I only put on £2.50 each way, but still won £18.50.
Typical.........if I would have put £100 on it I bet it would have fallen.
Ah well, as they say , never look a gift horse  (ha!) in the mouth. Laughing

We've done a sweepstake at work and I pulled out:

Fleet Street - 100/1 (pah!)
Black Apalachi - 14/1 (yay!)

The thing with the grand national you cant garantee the the higher odds on the horses will do well meaning oyur outsider rach could still have a chance lol

If I understand odds correctly, they're not actually decided on how well the horse might do, but more on how bookmakers believe the public will bet on that horse.

In short: If the above is true (I got this from a US-centric book on casino and sports gambling, though) then it means that horses at odds of 5-1 and 5200-1 might do equally as well in the race, but the bookies are working on the assumption that lots of people will back the 5-1 "favourite", and virtually no-one'll lay money on the 5200-1 "outsider". Smile

In the above example though, I'd probabally lay £1.00 on each horse - If either wins the race, my eventual profit would be either £3.00 (Enough for a pint) or £5,198 if the outsider took it! Cool
Boo
