Family ride to go at Thorpe Park

Just come across this on the Thorpe Park mania forum.

No more Fungal Safari...... ARGHHHHHHHHHH. Seems strange to get rid of it and not replace it for the new season. While Thorpe does now attract an older age group they still need rides for younger members of a visiting family to enjoy.

As is well documented families generate a much higher secondary spend than thrill seekers. So alienate and turn away family groups and attract purely thrill seekers and the parks profits could drop.

Plus family groups are less likely to cause problems or damage than teenage groups, so running costs could be lower.

There's no doubt that Thorpe is a thrill seekers park BUT they still need family rides to keep the whole family entertained and keep them in the park for longer.

As a family member this is just daft but this is also the way that Thorpe has been heading for a long while. It just makes it harder to find rides for children to enjoy. That said it is 1 ride out of a handful that they have. I still think they need a area with a selection of children's rides and children's play area like Old Mcdonalds at Alton thsat way there is somewhere they can play all they like.

Thomas won't mind he will be able to stay on the Flyin Fish more  Laughing

It does seem strange not to replace it, but maybe the actually reliability and maintanence costs out weigh its actually use. Its not much of a ride these days, but agree family rides are needed to complement the thrill rides. Maybe there is a longer term plan to replace it.
