Drayton Manor Future Speculation

Now I'm probably putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5 but I've had a thought about DMP. A couple of years ago in an interview for AIRtime Colin Bryan said he really wants to install a launched coaster. Well Edward Pawley recently spent some time with Premier Rides who specialise in launched coasters. Could we be about to see an American supplied launched coaster in the UK?

I think this could be a good move because Premiere Rides are a bit thin on the gorund when it comes to European installations so would probably be up for doing a deal so as to improve their brand awareness. So DMP could get a bargain launched coaster. Chuck in the fact the exchange rate is superb at the moment and again DMP are set to get a good value coaster.

Given the local areas links to the motor industry perhaps the coaster could be themed to one of the local cars. How about a Robin Reliant themed coaster.

Have you been putting things in your tea cup or was it just one of them dreams we all have. Very Happy  Very Happy
I did hear of a rummer that Shockwave was to be removed and replaced with a coaster as this was easyer than applying for planning permision because it already is there.
The other down side is that G Force has had problems with people in the area over noise. They said to make it more quite it would strugle to get around the track. Also they could not afford to get a second car which would shrink the queue times.
I would like to see a launch coaster at this park though as I think it is the next step in there plan to improve the park.
This could all come down to cost we don't want half a coaster because we run out of money. I have seen what happens when half a coaster runs on RCT2/3

No rumour that was also in the interview in AIRtime. Colin said that they had pretty much run out of space they'd geting planning consent on so it might be case they'd have to remove Shockwave to be able to build something else. Of course given Colin has also said that he prredicts the future is in indoor rides, so why coudln't they build an indoor Premier Rides launched coaster with heavy themeing.

With regards G Force it was in the contract with Maure that it had to be below a certain noise level. If it's not below that level I guess there could be a law suit. What I can't quite grasp about the noise is that Formule X, another X Car coaster at Drievliet, is virtually silent. So why can't G Force be quietened down.
David Ellis

I agree...Formule X is just silent...spookily so, and the restraints don't keep tightening as you go round, unlike G-Force's restraints which work tighter until you can hardly breathe.

Cheers Marcus for clearing up where I had heard the rummer from.I remember them saying that indoor rides would help with noise levels and make it a little easyier to get planning permision. Indoor launch works great look at Rock & Roller Coaster.
I am not a huge fan of G force and the reason is what David said about the restraints cutting of your air supply as you go around the course.
Happy Helen

It would help if they could reduce noise levels as it would make planning permission easier.
I'm sure the Rock and Roller coaster works well indoors as does Space Mountain, so if they could build a ride like that for Drayton Manor that would be amazing, although it would depend on the finacial side of things.
