Cedar Point advice

Hey everyone,
Some totally amazing news, we are off to Cedar point for a week next month  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

We will be flying from Manchester direct to Chicago then hiring a car to take us to Cedar point, we are staying at a Cedar point hotel that will get us into the park an hour early every day.

So if anyone has been before and has any advice it will be greatly received

Main tip is to pace yourself, cedar point is a very big area with most of the rides being fantastic. Maverick bangs your head owing to the overhead restraints unless you take care so enjoy yourself
Rough Rider

Head straight for the best ride in the park (and smoothest)...................................."MEANSTREAK" Very Happy
Then ride it 30 times on the trott and become a fellow "Rough Rider".
Magic,
there is still plenty of time for you to join this elite group Laughing
or are you waiting to do it on the "Rattl*r"?? Laughing  Laughing
"ROUGH RIDERS UNITE!!!!!!!!! Laughing

Thanks for the tip guys, Ryan does 75 rides on Wild Mouse not get me in the rough riders club?  Laughing

Does anyone know if you are able to purchase a Cedar Point season pass even if you are from the UK? It would save a lot of money if we can.

Last year we purchased Cedar Fair passes at Mitchigan's Adventure, to allow us to visit a selection of their parks while we were in the area.

However we didn't find the ability to get in early too much of a bonus, as they only open a couple of rides early.

Thanks for that  Very Happy

That is something I tried and I tried to pre buy the passes online but they are only available to USA and Canadian residents only. But that is most likely a internet thing rather than Cedar policy
Magic

It is internet policy rather than Cedar Fair policy. Same as Six Flags.
You could try putting in any old US address if you want to buy it in advance, sometimes the season passes are cheaper online than at the park. Or you email them and say you want to buy one in advance and ask them to honour the online price seeing as they are stopping you from taking advantage of the offer.

Make sure you check out Famous Daves Barbeque in the marina next to Cedar Point exiting the park near Blue Streak. Really good food. And tell them it's your birthday for a free pud with fireworks.

Try and get to TTD early to be one of the first riders to increase your chance of a roll back.

If it's raining don't assume you can do the one indoor ride in the park, Disaster Transport is closed when it rains because the roof leaks.

Ridewise make sure you get TTD, Mil Force, Raptor, Blue Streak, Magnum XL and wicked twister - anything after that is a bonus.

Cedar Point has a few turkey rides though - Iron Dragon, Mean streak, Mantis and possibly even Maverick  Confused   Very Happy

Have fun!!

Cedar Point is a beautiful park. Check out the woodland area with the small stalls. The whole park is stunning but as the others have said, it is huge.

Which hotel are you staying at? I stayed at Breakers which is lovely.

We are staying at the Breakers Express hotel, going for the budget one as we will be in the park from 9am to 10pm so we will only ever use it to crash out for.

I cant believe it is only 5 weeks away, having 6 days at Cedar point will be totally amazing, I just hope the queues are not too bad though.

Oh no they aren't!  I've got the t-shirt to prove it (which I will, of course, be wearing at Cedar Point again) Laughing

We didn't go for budget, we stayed at the Sandcastle Suites, and it was  pretty poor.  In fact the worst hotel of the whole holiday.  But as you said, you are only sleeping in it.

The other advice I will give is ... do set yourself a list of rides you must do.  When we were there in June last year it rained practically all the time, so we only managed a handful of rides over three days.  When I was there the previous time we rode all 16 (as it was then) coasters in just one day.

Mind you with the rain were some spectacular storms, and it was almost worth missing the rides to expereince the lightening! Laughing

When we were there a couple of years back Disaster Transport was closed because of the rain....
