BPB Wild Mouse - bad newsBad news from BPB about the wild mouse.
Due to it taking more wood than they thought it would need while replacing all the brackets to the ride it is not expected to open until roughly June now.
I am gutted about this as Wild Mouse is one of my favourite rides but I am pleased that they are spending the times and money to do a proper job on it that will see it good for many more years to come.

You had me worried then. I thought you were going to say it was no longer viable - whether for commercial or safety reasons.
So a delay in reopening it - to ensure a proper job can be done is not too bad at all.
But I still don't think I'll ride it - it's the only ride that ever scared my mum!!!!!

I was nearly in tears when i first saw the thread, i thought you were going to say it had shut down for good or had a fire or something else equally nasty. Shame it will not be open for the bash, but fantastic as graham says that the pleasure beach are spending the time and effort into this old classic. xxx to Blackpool

I must say I thought this was going to be worse than this. Its a real shame as its always good fun listening to Hayley giggle her way round the ride! We'll just have to wait til next year.

They seem to be poping up everywhere nowadays. Last time I rode the one at Flamingoland and at BPB it hurt me when it stopped so it's about time it could do with a refit.

Don't think the refit will stop it hurting when it stops. Wild Mice do that whether they're new or not. This refit just ensures the structure is safe and will last for many years to come. So you can still look forward to those "lively" stops when it reopens.

Your correct with your post about it being the structure rather than the ride.
I have been told that it will be re tracked for next season.
Great to see BPB looking after a classic ride
And for those of you who did not go for the opening weekend the park looks nicer still, with new signs and a general tidy up. It looks superb thses days at BPB.
