Excellent, those dates are perfect! It'll be my birthday on the 20th so im thinking of staying beyond the club meet and having some extra days up there Smile
frosty

I hope those dates are right as performing a search I still cannot find where that came from. Before people arrange things it may be wise to get confirmation.
STEALTHYBUTBAD

Happy Helen

My mum might bring me up or I might be coming on my own. If I am coming on my own where is everybody staying ?

I'll be there for the entire weekend , the best hotel in Blackpool !!!  John and Jane ( the management ) are members of the the club and will be at the coaster crazy show possibly doing an act this time ! Thanks guys...you are all FAR too kind! Embarassed

Just to confirm, we are full, but if anyone is thinking of booking somewhere & is not too sure about it, feel free to conact us & we can tell you if we have heard anything bad about it.
The Blackpool grapevine works quite well, so if there are issues of any kind with a hotel/holiday flat, we usually hear about it.
Hope this helps.

Tip Top Adamski...

Obviously as it is soooo fantastic, you will be booking in there next year & breaking her shower cords instead of ours! lol

Having not yet re-designed my handcuffs into a rather odd looking replacement for a shower cord yet??  Very Happy
bluea61

Wow, I'm impressed she is still in business! Is she still charging £5,000 a night?
ForeverBlue

She is now called "Sparkles Born Again"!!! Nothing to do with Abba tribute bands I am sorry to report....she has "found god" (probably lurking behind all the fur coats) apparently & is now trying to market herself as "An executive boutique hotel" or "A Christian Retreat" depending on what mood she is in. Just another daft marketing ploy in our opinion.

Visit Britain have taken away ALL of her stars & she is not considered to be of a rateable standard by them.....speaks for itself really! As for the 5k a night....probably still trying to charge that, but we can't find anyone that stays there to ask - apart from the DSS mob she has living there at the tax payers expense!

Oh wow, sounds great . . .  Sparkles 'bjorn' again!! I'll ring her now . . .

If i get the train from 'waterloo' and i'll knock on the sparkles door and say hi 'knowing me, knowing you' and when she asks my name i'll say its 'Fernando'! When she says its £5000 per night i'll say no wonder yourre making so much 'money money money' . . . . . . . .   Very Happy

Ok, i think you get the idea   Laughing

A year or 2 ago Sparkles was up for sale. Did it not sell then?
ForeverBlue

After the Hotel Inspector programme aired, it killed what little business she had left off.

It went up for sale at a grossly inflated price. She then put it up for auction..it went thru on 3 seperate auctions and never attracted a single bid. She has continually dropped the asking price & still had no interest. Still for sale today.

If we all chiped in then we may be able to put a offer on it  Laughing

Great...Can we book in for the first 2 weeks in March. I take it Adam will NOT be taking care of repairs as he seems to be better at breaking things! (Stares mournfully at shower cord!)

Gutted! Simon can't get the bash dates off at work because it clashes with a trip to manchester which everyone seems to have booked off. Think i'll be able to get it off but I don't know whether to go on my own really. If not it'll be the first bash i've missed in 5 years. Was sooo looking forward to it as well, simon is really upset. Grrrr!

As my sister is getting married in July I am not able to come this this year, but I will hopefully come to Oakwood.

HELP!

Has anyone got or knows someone who has a violin that we could borrow for the Saturday night of the Blackpool Bash.  If so please e-mail me andy@rccgb.co.uk

Thanks

Andy

NOTE: It does NOT have to be a working violin (or even have strings!)

Death

[Death wanders onto the stage, gong sounds, Death wanders off stage again! Laughing]

I'm definitely going...Got my booking sent off a week ago, and Nev's confirmed receipt of it. Just got to get around to booking my hotel, and getting a good route to Blackpool off of Google Maps before I set off! Cool

I don't know if I'll be doing the Gong Show this year though. I've had a couple of decent acts in mind for a couple of years now, but - Aside from them only being suitable for over 21's with very strong stomachs - They'd involve too much work and too many props to work as a Gong act anyway. Confused

Anyhow...I'm looking forward to my third 'Bash, and hope ye all are as well! Twisted Evil

Hi All

I've just finalised the acts for "Friday Fun" and what a night it will be!  All three (yes 3) acts have appeared on TV and the main billing was a regular Saturday night performer for weeks last summer!

You won't want to miss this fabulous night of variety!
c anderson

Never missed the Friday event yet and not going to miss this one
nemesis scribe

Sounds good Nev, well done  Very Happy
oblivion

Sounds good, wonder who the main act is then!  Laughing
Rough Rider

Way to go El Prez..........
Lets hope it's Dolly Parton. HA!
Better still.... lets hope it's the builder of "RATTLER" and he is signing autographs......HA!!
Wow, I really am getting desperate to get the "RATTLER" involved in any subject. HA!
Wildthing

Ryan, lets hope there is a good doctor in Blackpool that can surgically remove The Rattler from the offending part of your anatomy??  If not you may have to be hypnotised again to try and ween you off that wooden boneshaker! Start supporting good wood like The Phoenix or Voyage. See you in Blackpool for the surgery? Very Happy
bradpeet

I persume that this isn't the rattler that Ryan is so obsessed with?

nemesis scribe

Laughing LMAO . . . yes, thats the one . . . . lol
c anderson

No that is not the Rattle that Ryan wants, this one is so much better than his ride.

i havnt laffed so much in ages!!! I never knew ryan was a fan of Big Apples!

Just booked my hotel for the 'Bash over the phone - So I've now only got finding and forking out £60,- for the train tickets to deal with now! ShockedCool
Which hotel am I staying at, I hear ye all ask? Well, that'd be telling...Wouldn't it? WinkTwisted Evil

Were be there early on the friday morning take in the sights of the sea life centre and central pier etc then head on down in the afternoon for the good old south pier meet up there before the show.
stealth fan

We will get there just before the start of the show, after setting up camp out in the sticks out of town.
Death

At a rough guess, I'll be rumbling into Blackpool North for around about 16:30 or so...If everything goes to plan, and I don't wind up catching the Penzance train yet again! Laughing

I'm planning to set off early that day, but I'm still trying to decide between going up the East Coast and taking the Trans-Pennine line from York (Havn't had ECML thrash in years, and the Trans-Pennine line runs through some of the most beautiful Yorkshire scenery too! Cool) and stopping for a half-day at Alton Towers on the way up! Shocked

Decisions, decisions... Rolling Eyes Twisted Evil
oblivion

I sent my cheque off last week, Simon will be coming up with me but then he has to go home before the show for work the next day etc. He is gutted! We will be coming up from Manchester coz we are seeing Papa Roach there on the thursday night, so will be in Blackpool around 12 ish probably. Might do the sealife centre etc and then meet up with everyone on the pier later on.

Ahh - But remember that I've always been a major fan of the Class 370 APT-P...And the IC-225s along that route are basically the same kind of train with only one power-car and non-tilting suspension. Cool
IIRC; BR were originally going to assign them the name APT-U, until their board of directors idiots decided to go and completely screw things up for the APT project! Evil or Very Mad

Even so...I doubt that an APT-U running the ECML at maximum 140mph would be anywhere near as phun as an APT-P powering up the WCML (Full-tilt and all) at it's much better top-end of 225mph... Twisted Evil
