Alton Towers 03.06.08

I took a very last minute trip to Alton Towers today as i decided this morning to have an extra days holiday after doing the Oakwood charity riding weekend.

I just wanted to say i could not believe how many chavs were in there and how stupid they are getting!!! All day long i observed the following:

1) Spitting in queue lines
2) Smoking in queue lines (This works in the USA, but not here, what a surprise)
3) Groups waiting in Single Rider Queues, then trying to get the ride op to let them all go on together - durrrrrrrrrrrrr . . .
4) Geting cameras out on lift hills resulting in the ride being stopped while staff get their camera's / phones off them.

We spent two days at Oaky and never saw any of this.

And yes i know not all young people are chavs or act in this matter. But we can spot the real chavs a mile of huh??  Laughing

Thats my rant over . . .

Were there many queue jumpers?

Sadly you have seen what I have seen on my visits to Alton over the last couple of years or so.

The type of people that go there are imo the worst people that go to any park in this country for the reasons posted by nemesis scribe.

My theory is if you are giving out half price vouchers like confetti you will get the worst of society going there. Thats why when BPB is half price at the start of the year I avoid the place like the plague.

Yes. I even got queue jumped on two seperate occasions in the Nemesis Single Rider Queue!!! On both occasions though, this resulted in me getting the front seat!!! Ahhhhh there is some justice in the world afterall  Very Happy

Oh, i  also saw the ride ops copping aload of abuse from a few chavs too for no reason whatsoever!!!  Evil or Very Mad

Shame that you had to see all that not good for familys with small children either to watch such a shame that there are people out there that do that.

It seems no day out at a park is complete without the obligatory run in with would be queue jumpers, we tend to stand our ground and argue - it's amazing how many back down as they simply expect people to move aside. It's all over the world unfortunately....and don't get me started on the french at disneyland paris Mad

We found its terrible in Spain at Port Aventura, they just don't seem to care. The only place you don't seem to see it, well I haven't, is in Florida.

Yes it is working.
We were at Thorpe on Sunday and witnessed an objectionable mouthy little madam being removed from the queue on Stealth when she reached the platform for jumping over the fence to join it.  -  RESULT!!  Twisted Evil

Thats great news lets hope it works well for the rest of the season and see if they can roll it out everywhere.

I have been in situations like this before, with regards to queue jumpers. They are a most objectionable breed. I will not move out of their way. Ignoring them in the process.

I di usually stand up to queue jumpers . . .i was just in one of my usual laid back moods on Tuesday and just couldnt be bothered to get into a slanging match with someone who cannot even string a sentence together.

Q. What do you call a wooly jumper with a Q logo?

A. Queue jumper . . . .

I was at Chessington once many years ago and we saw some kids jump the queue . So we told one of the staff and he said "What do you want me to do about it?" Helpful. Thankfully things have changed a lot at Chessy since then, maybe its the families who go.

Perhaps, Mr Adam La Sparkle, you should have taken your handcuffs home with you and then you could have cuffed any would be queue jumpers to the fence Wink
