What would you say is your favourite Alton Towers rollercoaster.
Please note that the reason RMT is not on the list is I don't deem it a rollercoaster with it being powered.
For me it has to be Nemesis. If there is a better ride out there in the world that has the height and space limitations on it plus the short length of track then I really would love to go on it.
The intensity of Nemesis is simply mind blowing, the G's you pull in the helix then straight into the heartline twist are just awesome. A truly staggering ride. _________________

Bit of an obvious answer to this one. Look at the Best Steelie poll. _________________ Don't look at me, I'm just Human

I agree Andy, this is a for gone conclusion. I'm sure a similar poll was done on the old board, and prehaps even one without Nemesis.
I voted for Oblivion though to be different, and I geneuinely enjoy it more! _________________ Steve

I knew it would be a foregone conclusion but thought it would be interesting to see if people like yourself enjoy another ride more. _________________

| For me it would have to be Air, as it really felt like I was flying. |

Nemesis gets my vote as it's a great ride and stands out above the other contenders - especially a front seat ride! Oblivion is ok but rather bland as it's basically just a drop, unlike the superb Griffon on the US trip which is a wonderful combination of hold + drop, ride and water theming. _________________ Steve

Once again, Alton Towers suffers for having a world's first roller coaster. And don't forget that Oblivion is a hold + drop ride too. It's not as long as Griffon, but it does have the added factor of not being able to see the bottom of the drop due to it being into a tunnel.
However, having ridden Griffon, I would like Oblivion to go floorless (possibly only on the front row - or at least get rid of the bar and support at the front of the car.)
EDIT: But Nemesis still gets my vote for best coaster at the Towers _________________ Now counting my coasters at http://www.coastercounter.com/bradpeet - which even has the snails |

Bland was too strong a word as Oblivion does have a thrill factor and is a fun ride. _________________ Steve

Shame about those rides, the Thuner Looper went as it was making too much noise on the track, not sure why the Beastie went as that looked a good ride.
I have to say do miss the Black Hole. It has been gone for four years, I wonder what would go in place of it. |
