As Woolworths was always one of my favourite shops ,thought I would disccuss anything that was your favourite thing to buy there.

They were around for almost a hundred years.

I have just had a look at their website and it shows the pick n mix which is one of my favourites as wells as C.D's.

There used to be a really big one in Bristol and Bath.

In 1995 i waited outside one early morning in Bexleyheath and bought a first day original version of Michael Jackson`s History CD. All the other record stores had sold out before the release of the CD on orders. Then i found some copies at Woolworth's coming in and got there before opening. First in line and was first served the CD at opening. That's my best Woolworth's memory.

My second. Last year i started going out with Vicci. Instead of going to the Summer Bash at Great Yarmouth we decided to go to Blackpool for the weekend. This weekend was the weekend that really made us. My funniest memory was us being in the Blackpool Tower Circus. At half time we were joking around about sweets. Then i said pity we cant get a Woolworth's pick n mix instead of over priced stuff in the show. I said there was one just outside on the corner and we did a runner like a pair of kids. Watching Vicci bounce along the street running at the pick n mix like a kid was so funny. We both got £5 plus bags of penny sweets and was one of the funniest things ever.

That's my memories of Woolworth's anyway lol.

That is the one thing I miss about Woolworth is their Pick 'n'n Mix especially with Quality Street and Cadbury's Roses.

Not normal purchases at Woolworths, I know...But the best and most memorable buy I ever had from there was the following:
  • 2x Wincor Nixdorf "Beetle" PC-based EPoS systems, and
  • 1x Hewlett Packard ProLiant ML430 G3 back-office server.
Not a bad deal for £300,- the lot if ye ask me...The server was worth more than that on it's own! Cool

The whole irony of this? I'd only gone into the store to buy a bottle of Coca-Cola! ShockedLaughingTwisted Evil
