Hi everyone,
My name is Catherine and i am very excited because i put my membership application form in the post last night. I've been wanting to join this club for YEARs but until recently have not lived in a suitable location nor had the cash to join in.
But here i am now and i can't wait to meet some fellow coaster boffins and start having a wicked time.
I do have a couple of questions though that i was hoping someone could answer for me:
1. Because i'm just in the process of becoming a member, will i be able to join you guys on the trip to Thorpe park in March, as from a few other posts it seems that info has already been sent out about this - i'd be gutted to miss out.
2. I noticed on the website before Xmas that the club was looking to employ someone to look after all the new club members - was this post ever taken up? I'd very much appreciate someone taking me under their wing on my first trip, just to help me settle in with the gang.

Hello Catherine welcome along there has been no information sent out at the moment regarding the forthcoming Thorpe trip so you are not too late for that trip Laughing

dont worry about not knowing anyone on your first trip we are all really friendly and you will have a blast,the club trips and ers are what makes this club Very Happy

Welcome to the board. Hope you enjoy posting here.

My first trip was Megaglow Mania in 2007.

Last year I did the Blackpool Bash which is great social oppourtunity as they have entertainment in the evenings and a gong show staring members. I also did Loopathon, Alton Towers only. I was going to do Drayton Manor as, but I decided not to as the weather was so bad.

I went to Thorpe Park over a decade ago and it would have changed a lot. You will love it there.

Hi Cat!

Welcome to the club! Don't worry about not knowing anyone to start with...... within minutes you'll be party of the coaster crazy roadshow Smile

Thorpe will be a good day, we are all looking forward to it, and with Blackpool to follow shortly after in April, it's going to be a great year.

In answer to your question about the welcomers.. i know at least one person who's sent Andy (who runs the club, but we call him Nev) an enquiry about it, but we havn't got that far yet in an official capacity - but everyone welcomes everyone anyway as we're a friendly bunch.

I'm sure everyone one dishes out this piece of advice, but try and make the Blackpool Bash! Its probably one of the best social trips and is more than just a day in Blackpool.

I just received the Blackpool Bash invite so the SAW-TED invite should be out soon. In another thread Nev has just confirmed that the Thorpe trip will definitely take place on the 21st.

Got my first day off for 4 weeks so am planning to sort all new member applications today (quite a big pile!). So hopefully anyone waiting membership should receive your welcome pack tomorrow or Friday.

AIRtime, SAW-Ted invite, Blackool Bash invite and renewal invite stuffed last night and sent at 8.00am this morning - so exisiting members should get all that tomorrow or Friday.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone that posted replys to my message - made me feel very welcome. I'm very please to say that i am now officially a member, as thanks to Andy i received a letter and several previous copies of Airtime in the post yesterday.

Also, I posted of my cheques to attend both SAW-Ted and BPB Bash this morning, and booked hotels last weekend = so i'm almost all sorted. Really looking forward to meeting as many people as possible and having two fab weekends of roller coaster crazy fun!
