Done these, and apart from Diamondback, I'm in no hurry to get back to Kings Island. So I'll not be doing this one, but the 2011 trip sounds promising. _________________ 319 coasters: Steel 251 Wood 68

Well - I've not done any of these except Cedar Point. And even at Cedar Point I still need some ticks It's a good enough park to go more than once too
I guess I'm hooked _________________ Now counting my coasters at http://www.coastercounter.com/bradpeet - which even has the snails |

I am hooked on USA coastering, darn I should not have done last years trip
Apart from Ceder Point which I have done all parks are new to me. But Ceder Point is a park I really liked so will be up for this one. _________________ Memeber of the 08 Top Thrill Rollback Club + Member of the "First to be denied SAW by Technical Failure" club.

Cedar Point definitely warrants multiple visits. So many great coasters and several ticks I need to do. Maverick was shut all day, Iron Dragon shut when we passed it and I did not do Wicked Twister as I was a bit under the weather and exhausted at that point. One let down was Disaster Transport as we queued for ages and it did not seem worth the wait.
Actually not having done WT or from memory another reverse coaster was why the reverse entry into Revolutions loop during this year Bash was such a wierd experience! _________________ Steve

Sounds like a great lineup, save for Great America.
They have lots of coasters, but nothing world class.
Raging Bull never really got raging, Superman Flying coaster
was nearly unridable, American Eagle was big, but unimpressive.
But it is close to Chicago, so helps close the loop.
On the other hand, Indiana Beach is one of the Coolest places
Ever! Lisa loves Cornball, and they have the new Steel Hawg.
HW has the Voyage (which we have not ridden since it opened)
and Raven. Its Killer!
We've done KI enough, but then comes Cedar Point, where
seven times isn't enough. Can you say Rollback?!
Of course the best thing about the trip is the chance to spend a week
with all you all!! _________________ Yankee Freeloader Pete

All being well, I hope to make this my first Club US trip...
I've done Cedar Point before but the others would all be new ground for me. Holiday World looks to be a cracking park with some great woodies!
For those who have ridden Voyage, is it really as good as they all say?? _________________ RCCGB Member 392 |

Lets just say it's Rough Riders number 1 woodie.
It is so hard to describe.............the only way is to get out there and ride it. (followed by a little detour down to Texas and then ride the "RATTLER")

The official details of the trip arrived this morning - time to get excited all over again
It's good news for Pete/Lisa though Michigan's Adventure has replaced Great Adventure. (I'm sure we knew this from other topics - but I don't think it has ever been mentioned in this, the actually topic for Hot Tracks2010 lol) _________________ Now counting my coasters at http://www.coastercounter.com/bradpeet - which even has the snails |

Hello,
Am i right in thinking that there is a draw for these USA trips, rather than a first come first served system??
Just wondering as I am really keen on going to one and as a newbie, I'm not entirely sure of the process.......any tips? |

Hi Geek. It's a draw and application details were in the current issue of Airtime posted last week.
Some details for this trip - the airport and airline is Heathrow / BAA, one week with five main days coastering in 5 parks, cost of the trip is £1,300 with three installments - an initial deposit of £300 due soon followed by two further installments of £500 spread over many months. A total of 53 members going (you have to be a club member). Hope that helps.

I think I'm right in saying that despite the drawer no one has ever been left out. On past trips people have followed along in a hire car, and one one occasion a mini bus was hired. Following along you'll still stay in the same hotels, take part in the ERS' but will have to do the driving instead of Bob. So don't worry too much about the drawer as Nev will do his best to ensure no one is left disappointed. _________________ RCCGB Membership Number 1915

Yet another new tax!!!
European Union Threatens Retaliation if U.S. Imposes New Travel Fees
September 8
Daily Mail (London, England, UK)
John Bruton, the European Commission’s (EU's) Ambassador to Washington, criticized the proposed $10 fee on international travelers in the Travel Promotion Act. He said if the EU determines the new United States registration system and fee amounts to a visa, the EU may consider requiring visas for U.S. travelers. Many Europeans see the issue as another burden imposed on travelers by the United States.

Got my details through yesterday. Looks like im gonna have to be a bit thrifty with the old spending juudging by the fact ive got the skiing trip to pay for soon aswell!!
It may be a lot of money but it certainly is one hell of a line up. Its got pretty much all the parks i ever wanted to visit in the US apart from those in California and Florida. It may be £1300 but im sure its gonna be worth every penny |

I am not sure that is confirmed as the trip is still at the planing stage. When i spoke to Nev it was a thought if it's possible - tho knowing Nev and his love of the phoenix he will do his best to go by Knoebels.
The Rattler, on the other has is confirmed! If it hasn't shaken itself to pieces and fallen down by 2011.
If you havn't seen it, Ryan showed us an excellent Rattler... watch the coaster after the "here comes the bend" !!

Of course, I'm just being tongue-in-cheek here...Ye all know what my sense of humour is like!
Anyhow: Joking aside, I presume that next years USA trip is one of the seven-day ones, isn't it? (I'm posting from a friends house, and don't have AIRtime with me to check.)
I've been meaning to try and book on a USA trip for a while now, but since the introduction of the shorter ones I've been having difficulty keeping track on which trips go on what years!
Although the shorter trips are generally a little cheaper than the traditional fortnighters, I'm thinking that - Like Mophead above - I'd rather save up and go for one of the longer ones.
Given that I'll probabally only be able to afford one USA trip in my life (And even then, I'd be "tacking" it on to the start or end of a longer trip to the US) IIRC the two week trips give more coasters to the Dollar, don't they?
Farewell...

I thought Ryan had hacked mophead's account to post that comment! First it was Andy and a few boomerang recruits and now rattler aficionado's! When will this madness end _________________ Steve

I'll have you know Ryan has done nothing of the sort. I have ridden the Rattler and it is indeed a superb coaster! _________________ Without a safety net you're free to find serene pleasure of speed |

Poor old Brian, it appears his previous experience with the Rattler has done far more serious brain damage than we first thought, he's completely dillusional. _________________ RCCGB Membership Number 1915

Blimey, over subscribed again. Clearly a great selection of parks attracting the masses. Hope you can make extra arrangements so no one misses out, you don't normally disappoint. _________________ RCCGB Membership Number 1915

There are now over 80 bookings. I am working on getting seats on a second flight out and back (same airports, just different timings - it won't affect any park time). I'm also looking at 2 coaches with the group split between the 2 (rather than one coach and 2 or 3 mini-vans).
I'll keep you updated.
There are a few of you who requested info but haven't yet booked - please send the booking ASAP so I know how many numbers I'm working with.
Thanks
