Apparently it's because of BO.

Another classic theme park summer story?

Having read this I contacted Thorpe and ....... its true!!

Quote "..... we don't want our hygiene conscientious guests being inconvenienced by those that are not.  It's due to the temperature not so much general hands in the air, and knowing the great British weather, the ban shouldn't need to stay active for long!  The bit about removing people from the Park is not true and been exaggerated by the press - we just want all our guests to be able to enjoy their day."

That is ridiculous ! I went to thorpe on sunday with other members of the club and there was no word about not putting arms in the air. I did have to laugh at the signs about "going to the loo before u queue" ill admit. In one of the queue lines for a ride they have signs up about a phone line u can ring up to report queue jumpers , smoking in the queue line and something else - a member of our group wondered if they actually follow up and of the complaints as i seriously doubt it.

Is anybody else getting a little tired of all these stupid PR stunts from Alton Towers and now Thorpe Park?

I laughed at this one becuase I thought it was a PR job, but to find out its true is even funnier! Surely this can only be seen as bad PR?

Not wanting to miss their chance to make money out of this, the Merlin Parks will probably have vending machines or kiosks in the queue lines selling deoderant soon...!

Its true though, the british public do smell....

Oh no they haven't. The link within the Screamscape on page on Drayton Manor takes you to a newspaper article that clearly says it's Thorpe Park, not Drayton Manor.

I emailed Lance early this morning to correct him on this and if you now look at the site it's been updated to be Thorpe Park and not DMP.

Maybe we should do our own signs (& T-shirts) that say:

"Wave your arms in the air, and shake them like you just don't care!"
