Do you prefer theme parks or water parks as since I started looking at them on You Tube there so many different types of rides and slides.

I am particually interested in the designs and I saw a looping waterslide being contrusted on You Tube which was really intresting.

Some water parks like Wet 'n' Wild on the Gold Coast of Australia has a Surf type rollercoaster, although they don't usually belong in water parks and Kalahari Resort, Sandusky in Ohio features a Zip Coaster. Unlike normal water park rides, it can be used in theme parks aswell.

Over the years new designs have been invented.

I enjoy both theme parks and water parks.  As some of you may have gathered, I've enjoyed attending Alton Towers, Paultons, Thorpe Park, Pleasure Beach Blackpool and Flamingo Land with the RCCGB.  There's plenty of other theme parks I've been to alone, including Flambards, Woodlands and the two Crealy parks.

Although I think I'm slightly more swayed to theme parks, I enjoy water parks as well, so don't wish to cast my vote at this stage.  I've been to a number of water parks over time.  Perhaps the biggest I've been to is Splashdown at Poole.  I've also been to the Lagoon at Basingstoke Aquadrome, Swansea LC, Oasis at Hendra in Cornwall, and several smaller places which have just one or two water slides.

One Saturday late May last year I went to Sedgemoor Splash in Bridgwater.  It had these features:

Slow slide: Giant Serpent (78 metres) The slow one.  Claimed to be the longest aquaslide in the south west.  It was a slow slide which took the slider forwards, before spiralling downwards clockwise.

Fast slide: Sea Snake (48 metres) The fast one.  Steeper, so it gave a much faster ride.  You went downhill on a much straighter course, then round a near u-bend towards the end back into the building to land.having

Fun pool with wave machine and river run.

Yesterday afternoon back there for what would be my last ever visit because sadly Sedgemoor Splash closed for good at 4pm today.  Sad   I feel it will be a major loss to Bridgwater for a numbr of reasons (I shalln't go into why here).  Anyway yesterday, I got there about 3pm and stayed in till closing time of 4pm.  The waves were on when I arrived, so I began by swimming in the wave pool.  I then took to the slides.  Unfortunately only the slow one was working yesterday, the fast one was out of action.  I enjoyed a total of 10 goes on the slow slide.  Just before 4pm, I went in the pool again to enjoy the waves just before closing time.  It's a pity I didn't have time to go around the river run, but I wanted to have as many slides as possible in the hour I was in there.  When I left I had this photo taken of me outside the building, with the slides behind me.

N.B. The red slide is the slow one, and blue slide is the fast one.

I remeber that one slide at Sedgemoor Splash was faster than the other.

I have been to the Blue Lagoon in Newquay which is now the Oasis at Hendra and the red slide was the faster one and the green one was the slower one.

As for the Splashdown at Poole they indicate which slides are fast, medium or slow and wether if it is a small drop, large, drop or an extreme drop.
