Is there going to be a Summer Bash trip this year? Just asking because there has been no mention of one in Airtime and looking to book the time off work. Also if its a south park, so less travel or a northern park, meaning the previous day off work to get there.
Hope we have one, the more official meet ups the better. _________________ My Site www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

I think Nev was talking about a couple of parks on the South Coast including Paultons as it's their 25th Birthday this year and they mentioned doing something special to celebrate the joint birthdays. No idea when, no idea which other parks may or may not be involved. I'm sure Nev will announce details soon. _________________ RCCGB Membership Number 1915

/me reserves some space in /me's virtual coaster krazy 2008 calendar!
This makes 5 or 6 possible events this year so far - whoot! _________________ Steve

No there has been no mention of a Summer Bash in Airtime, but it was mentioned on the membership renewal form.
It should either be 28th June or 5th July.
Perhaps Nev has not been able to sort out a date yet.
Thorpe Park would be great, but with the newGerstler Eurofighter opening in 2009 that might be one to do then.
Brean Leisure Park Park would be good as it is not too far for me.
I agree about more official meetups that would be better. |

Still reckon flamingoland would make a great trip, esp in the summer with the major wet water rides they now have.
The great camp site across the road to chill and relax the night before and after the park.
but going back to paultons would be cool again |

I would love an official club trip to Flamingoland as well. It`s a great up and coming park that should be given more time.
My favorite Summer bash was my first in 2005 at Hayling Island. For a small park you can have a great day there. A more personal day with other club members.
Then for the 2006 Bash, After Paultons on the Saturday, a group of us went to Hayling to make a weekend of it.
My second time to the park and another weekend maker. I got to climb the drop tower ride with the owner. Drag the bed and breakfast staff down to the park to try there first coasters and spend hours on the rides.
A great weekend could be made of Paultons and Hayling Island combined.
It would be nice to capitalise on the summer months, if we have one this year? lol. Make a weekend of things, instead of the one day to travel to.
Like Paultons and Hayling or Flamingo and Vally say.
What about a club trip to the Joyland Snails? Can you imagine the ERS on that ride? lol. That would be the ERS of a lifetime. Then off up the road to the classic Woodie. _________________ My Site www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

| I would love to do Flamingo Land as it has changed a lot since I last went there and I was amazed with the selection of rides. |

I asked Andy Hine at the Blackpool Bash about what's being done about this year's Summer Bash. He said "Possibly Paultons", but wasn't 100% certain, and couldn't give a date.
The sooner we all know a definite date and venue the better. I for one would like to know as it may influence where I take my main summer holiday this year, e.g. if the Summer Bash is to be held somewhere in Yorkshire or Scotland I may want to stay several nights in the vicinity of the Summer Bash location.
In fact, I'm more than surpised the Summer Bash hasn't been formally announced on the UK Trips 2008 section of the main site by now. If I remember rightly, by the last week in April last year, the 2007 Summer Bash to Adventure Island Southend had already been announced there. If the Club is to have an ERS on a coaster at a park before opening time, on a Saturday late June / early July, surely that would have had to have been agreed with the Park by now, wouldn't it? |
