Splashdown Water Park in Poole is one of the best parks I have been to and they are now the operators of Quaywest Water Park, Goodrington Sands, Devon. If you join for £3.00 you can use your membership card there too.

Also the former site of the Tropicana, Weston Super Mare is opening a new park next year.

I agree, its good fun here. Especially in the summer when it's hot out and you can enjoy the outdoor areas more.

And best thing is... it's 1 mile from where i live Smile

I haven't been there for years.

I didn't think it was far from where you live.

Thanks Helen.  About a year or more ago someone led me to believe Splashdown Poole had taken over the former Tropicana site at Weston-super-Mare and were contemplating opening a second Splashdown there.  When I went to Weston on Good Friday and visited SeaQuarium, I also noticed building work going on next to the former Tropicana.  I mentioned the above to somoene who was in the former Tropicana reception (front half now a cafe) the and he didn't know anything about that.  As for the building on the beach beside, I was told that was sea defence work, nothing to do with Tropicana.  Some others I spoke to were none the wiser about Splashdown taking over the former Tropicana.

However I did see a notice saying something about the Tropicana site being developed to include a kids' water park, and someone I spoke to said someone had bought the site.  Confusing to say the least.

That would be great if there was somewhere like Splashdown nearer to where I live as Poole is such a long way, although the rent would be very expensive. Hopefully it will occur at the former site of the Tropicana.

Bad news: "Cash crisis ends Tropicana plans"

This evening I spotted this report on the BBC Points West web site about the former Tropicana at Weston-super-Mare.  What a pity, a replacement water park there would have been a much needed visitor attraction for Weston.

I agree with you Nick, a much needed waterpark would have been needed for Weston.

I expect you have heard about the new peir, which would be just a good.
