Am I the only one on this forum who has been selected as a potential winner of an Audi A3 ,or is everyone getting the same message at the top of the screen?

I was running Norton 360 together with Spyware Doctor but my PC was ridiculously slow so I disabled Spyware Docter which has really improved the speed of my PC but obviously allows more pop ups.

I use a pop up blocker integrated with my XP.
There will come a time when this site will be ad free.

Mind you June, if we all win, the roads are going to be even more crowded

Are we talking a pop up box or an avdert at the top of the screen.

I have no pop ups (home or Work) but there is an advert at the top of the page, which I obvioulsy ignore

It seems that I too have been selected. As krusty says just ignore it unless you want to win a new car.

I think it's only on the last post of a thread, because mine above had them and now it doesn't - yours does, so once this is posted yours should disappear and I should have them again (if that makes any sense !!!!)

The advertising will be here until arrangements are made to remove it.
This is underway.

However, until we do get rid of the advertising, you are exactly right.
The little gooogle bots read the posts and link an advert to it that is relevant to the content. The advert only appears with the last post in the topic. So once there is a new post it will disappear from the previous one.

Great news everyone!

As I have been selected as a competition winner I may even win two cars. Laughing

My only problem is how to drive two cars at the same time Question

I could always auction the second one on the forum.

Hail All! Twisted Evil
I've never noticed any pop-up windows when I've been using the site in IE from various public libraries, so I would imagine that it's more to do with spyware on your PCs as opposed to code on the board. Smile

Remember though that ye may get legitimate Javascript pop-ups when ye recieve a new PM...These are easily identifyable in that they come up in a Windows box, only contain plain text alongside a "Caution" icon, and should normally have [OK] and [Cancel] buttons on them. Smile

There is also an interesting thing with Google Adwords advertisements that's usually triggered by people with common adjectives as usernames ("Death" in my case)...If ye go to the Official BAL-SAGOTH Forum, you'll see Google adverts all over the place for death certificate and funeral related services due to my username being plastered all over the place! LaughingCool

Farewell... Twisted Evil
