I have been thinking as alot of peolpe are wanting to go to a european park then why not here and make a weekend of it??
Was thinking of going on a friday afternoon evening and traveling down towards or very close to the park then sat and sun in the parc and get a very late ferry back.
This is a thought to see who would be interested.
Date wise not sure as the parks website isnt up and running yet.
When we went in 2007 we used our season passes as in previous years.
ANother thought is staying at their hotel and in the price you get your park enetrance included.
ANy takers on this idea.
Obviously the drivers would have to be nuts to be up for all the long hours of driving. |

I would be really interested. I`m also good for petrol contributions.
Only issue may be the date as a lot of my holidays are now booked and i work Saturdays. They are all based around club trips and the club USA trip.
But i`m very interested.
Let me know dates and i could see what happens. That if people can put up with me after the summer tour? lol _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

The Monday straight after Drayton Manor of Loopathon, i went to Hyde Park. The entire trip cost very little. The flight by Ryan air was very cheep. Then car hire split by the number of passengers, as well as petrol cost was nothing really.
Plus getting into the park on our annual passes kept the costs down . It was great to get to another country, do a new park and new ticks all for so cheep.
Would be of interest to do any European parks.
Also a suggestion of a future summer tour? Using cheap flights and car hire and camping. We could get a number of parks done on a tour. As a future plan maybe, see what people think? _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

We'd be interested in this to. Perhaps make this a change and do the summer tour in France taking in a few parks in the area? Whatever we would be interested in Parc Asterix anyway. _________________ Steve

Done this park a couple of times before, but would love to go back. Great coasters and very well themed.

Id like to do a weekend to see how everyone gets on with it and going just to parc asterix for 2 days.
People often forget how big places in europe are to drive around. So i thought parc asterix would be a good warm up, its a great park with loads of different things to do and see.
If it goes well then prehaps look into a longer tour over there prehaps doing germany.
So people interested so far are:
Steve Caine
Andy & Rach
Adam
Andy K
Steve & Hayley
Steve B
not bad if all came thatd be 2 cars.
EDIT:
Just looked on mulitmap for distances etc.
I put in from mine to paris as it is close to parc asterix
Total Distance there is: 370.08 miles
Total time 6hrs 55mins
but in that includes ferry time |

I am interested. problem is i have no holidays booked in march or may. Only have the week leading up to the Bash in April. I had to have all holidays booked by January 4th, so its announced late for me.
Let me know dates anyway before i say no. _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

I am really interested in this trip. I would love to go but uni is a nightmare this year so will need to know dates soon so I can work around it.
I think the idea of a long weekend is a possibilty like Thursday afternoon (16:00) to Monday afternoon (20:00) _________________ Hayley

Thanks for the offer there Steve. I didn`t actualy tell Carol but i know she would be intrested and can now read this for herself as she joined the forum last night.
Maybe we could plan a Germany and France tour for 2009. Give everybody time to arrange dates that all fit and sort everything out. _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

This may have come a little late, but i'm well up for a trip into France (Or even Germany). As i've never ridden any coasters in these countries.
Let us know if this thing ever gets off the ground.
ps. Don't mind driving silly distances either (Within reason). _________________ Making the world a better place by being nice!

Well I'm still interested although I have been there before, twice. If we can get enough people together I am willing to drive as I prefer driving on the continent, because people can't seem to drive in this country, no offence, and the roads are in a better condition lol. _________________ Don't look at me, I'm just Human

This looks promising.
Yeah lets try and get some dates sorted. so Stevie B can get his holidays booked well in advance, lol.
With the people who have just replied to this thread we must have 2 or 3 car fulls and i'm sure we could rope in a few more. _________________ Making the world a better place by being nice!
