Sorry dude, i did get your facebook message. Was gonna reply but was doing stuff. That's fine about the lift mate.
You need to contact Smiler about staying with us. As me, Vicci, Pete and Carol are staying at the same place. You need to confirm with Rich.
Ill message you with details later but leaving early on the Friday. Can you get to Carols area? As they are picking me and Vicci up from Stansted on our return from Spain around mid-day.

Heh..

Oh dear, I fear I may have made a mistake in choosing the Alton Lunch...

Not having done a Loopathon before (I know, I know... shame on ME!, but there were extenuating circumstances...), I thought I'd go for the whole 'experience'.

Looking forward to the Dark ERS on Nemmy though Smile

We wont be be falling for the sausage roll with no sausage trick. Drayton Manor's buffet is a different matter though, always a good spread, and it's real food Laughing
Oh, and looking foward to the rides too.
It mentions Rita in the itinery as part of the ERS in the morning, s that so, or is it straight after Oblivion?

The oblivion may well be shared with hotel guess as there in the park from 9 as me and jess went last week. After Spinball etc we went to Rita at bout 9:40 and already there was quite a big que even before the que lines open so not sure most probs like the malestrom take over its there if you wish to do it.

So last year was my first loopathon.  But I don't see what was wrong with the Alton Towers buffet.

I also don't see why everybody raves about the one at Drayton manor - especially since they ran out of food last year!

My first Loopy and it will be my first visit to Alton and Drayton (gasp), so I was going to opt for Alton's finest quisine! Now I'm wondering if I should give it a miss. It can't be that bad can it?

Not being nasty because Nev and the park have arranged it for us. But on my past experience.

MISS IT !

Draytons buffet is lush!

I did this about 8 years ago and I remember the choices for veggies was poor, and I wonder whether much has changed...?

I'm presuming most people giving it a miss aren't veggies, so I'm really wondering how bad it is?....

As a vegetarian I'm opting out of the Alton buffet as on the two occasions I've had it, there's been nothing but a few wedges and cake, and that's not worth £8.

Paul's on his first club trip and I've told him he's not having buffet!

Drayton always put on a great spread.

Thanks Sarah. That's made up my mind! Actually, it seems nothing has changed as the food on offer was pretty poor back when I did it.

£8 saved and here's looking forward to the DM spread!

Cheers,

I think when I last had the buffet and had the "sausage rolls" mine were full of mustard powder

I've had the Alton buffet for the past few years and i'm not sure what the problem is. OK, so it's not the best in the world, but then i'm not paying £50 in a restaurant for it.

As buffet's go, it's fine tho. There was a decent choice (i'm not veggie), and once the initial wave of people has gone through the line, you can keep helping yourself until it's all gone. For £8 you'd do well to beat it using the on-site froth food places.

Only thing that could be improved, was if the beer was included in the price  Laughing  Then you'd always get Ryan to loopy  Laughing

Just don't wait for the first wave of people to go through at Drayton!  I did that last year, to find there was not much left at all - and many things had completely run out.  And yet nobody else on here seems to complain about that.

Perhaps that's because if you'd waited a few minutes longer they would have come out and filled the plates back up again!
In all the years I've been going to Drayton, I've never seen their buffet run 'dry'.

Oh believe me - I didn't go off in a sulk.  I stayed and watched and waited, but other than a few of the 'snacky' things, there was no sign of plates being refilled.

personally , ive had the lunches at alton towers since my first loopathon back in 2003 and havent noticed many problems to be honest. I must admit they could do with some more hot dishes like pizzas or something but otherwise im fine with them.  The Drayton Manor lunch is as everyone says very very nice.

I am not getting excited Adam. THis may, however, have more to with the fact that I am not attending.
Hope you have a sparkling time Ad

I'm excited that I'm doing thorpe and paultons during the week, 3 days at AT and Drayton Manor.
When will the trip badges be coming through?

I've just finished stuffing the Loopathon trip badges, etc., and will post them in the morning.
There are codes on some badges which are as follows:

SP = Season Pass
AT = Alton only
DMP = Drayton only

If you are bring guests please issue them with the correct badge.

If you have been sent the wrong badges or are missing the lunch voucher, don't panic! (and don't send me abusive e-mails like I get off some when I make a mistake!).  Just e-mail me andy@rccgb.co.uk stating what you got and what you should have got and I'll bring the correct ones with me next weekend, and sort you out at the gate!!  Very Happy

I'm off to bed now! Goodnight!
