I`m up for this but it will have to be a sunday this year. Eitherf sunday 6th january, maybe do a day in London as well? Or otherwise sunday 30th? This is with it being in North London this year. Was easier to go after work when it was at Hyde Park.
Plus we could also get the Lecster square fair done. Plus the eye and Dungeon? Make a day of things. _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

Does anybody fancy making a day of this on Sunday 6th January?
Could do London Eye and Tussauds on annual passes. Do a London Dungeon visit. Do some shopping in Camden Town, i`ve promised to take Bunnie shopping there. Then do Leicester Square and London Fun Fairs later in the day.
People could spend a night or a couple at Carol`s. Then just need a travel card for the day. Carol has said it`s okay for any Sparrows to stay over.
Could be cool to do a London meet up. Plus the 7th January is my 21st birthday again! lol _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

The plan for this should be.
Come down either early Sunday morning or Saturday night and safety at Carol`s.
Get London travel card. Get to London Bridge for an early session at London Dungeon. Get the ride in as well, and avoid the afternoon ques.
Then move on to the London eye or save this for later in the day. But this is closer to London Bridge. So would be a good time to get it done.
Then move up to Camden Town for unique shopping in London. This place is great on a Sunday with the market.
Move on to Madame Tussauds, for some Jack Sparrow posing sessions. The staff will love us. lol
Go back into the centre for the Leicester Square fun fair via a trip to Hanleys on Regents Street to play with the toys. Then 5 minutes walk to Leicester Square.
From there get a tube to Wembley Park for the London Fun Fair.
We could also get a Pizza Hut buffet on route. I know lots around the route. Smiler knows my knowledge of the city is better than a taxi drivers. lol He was worried about all the side streets and then worked out where he was.
Just call me Stevie B, tour guide.
Carol will put all Sparrow Gang people up but will be a sleeping bag, airbed job. Can stay both Saturday and Sunday nights. Just let her kn bow that you are coming before hand. I live 5 minutes away but have no room due to my mum collecting things. Plus i only have my double bed.
Most people have agreed this will have to be January 6th. So more people can make it down.
Yes Ian you are welcome.
Plus this is for mine and Trax birthdays. Joint celebration day. _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

Myself. Carol, Smiler and Jess are confirmed for this day. Who else is a definite. Remember guys, its cool to stay at Mad Mommas house for both the Saturday and Sunday nights.
We could also do another clubbing night at the Venue.
Smiler may join us late if we do the Dungeon due to Jess not liking the place. Sad though as miss out on Extremis, which is actually a great little ride for the place. _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

The Coaster Police + Alex, Harvey, Heather & Marie will be doing this tomorrow (Saturday 29th).
We are going to start by checking out the funfair at Leicester Square at about 12:30. Although there may not be a coaster there, however there is one on the books of the bloke thats running it, so we'll check it out incase. Then lunch at Mr. Woo's chinese buffet, then onto the funfair at Wembley.
If anyone else is about... see you there!
Matt

P.S. Anyone going to the Ireland funfair in January? We're doing a day trip on 10th Jan. £9.99 return flight Bristol-Dublin with Ryanscare. Just a day, out in morning, back in evening. Up to 4 Irish Travellers there! |

Visited the London Fun Fair today..... to use Ryan's words.... "Bag of Shyte".
There's only 1 coaster there and it's a crazy caterpillar (wacky worm) coaster. The fair is very small compared to any other town fair really. To advertise it as London's Fair, is IMHO an embarrasment to London.
There were not many people about (albeit we went during the day). I'm sure it's busier with the usual yobs at night time. There's a selection of rides, but nothing at all special, and given the recent rain, you find yourself squelching about in mud - so don't wear the shiny new white trainers you got for xmas !!
All in all, pants. If you are desparate to scratch a new Wacky Worm type coaster, then go - if not, i wouldn't bother. I think they should have left it in Hyde Park, as there'd have been more tourists about and alot busier, thus may have attracted better rides.... stuck out in the Wembley area (and not any famous part of Wembley), it's all a bit remote.
Also, we checked out the small fair in Leicester Square and there's no coasters there either.
At least it was sunny today

Coaster POlice - awwww no new ticks / scratches then???? Did you do the mini apple that was there - curious
It sounded quite bad, but at least it kept you out of trouble for the day
Happy holidays!!!

Yes, we did the Crazy Caterpillar that was there ! SCRATCH!!
And it's a new one for the Coaster Count travelling list, so i've sent the email and it'll be added shortly
BONUS today though!! Bill Danters fun fair has a small presence at Bournemouth Pier this week. A random call from Alex (Nephew and RCCGB member) alerted the Coaster Police to the presence of a required Go Gator in town!!! Unlike London yesterday this is only 5 miles from home, so was SCRATCHED within the hour
It's there until 1st January 2008 for any desparate local scratchers
Photo's from both the London Fair (29/12) and Bournemouth Pier (30/12) can be found at... http://mdw.fotopic.net/c1431994.html
Happy New Year everyone!

Leicester Square fun fair has never had a coaster. But it`s great fun in the evening. The location and the rides all lite up. Can be really fun.
It`s sad the London Fun Fair has lost its momentum and spot in Hyde Park. Was always a lot of fun the last few years. Just ask Steve Caine! lol
Still worth a visit with the other things we were planing on Sunday. Was never going to be the main reason for a visit, even in its prime the fair was only a couple of hours job. Wonder what happened to the spinning Crazy Mouse?
Maybe somebody should suggest Greenwich Park or something for the future. Its a tourist location with a major town next door. Plus only 3 stops from London Bridge. Plus i would be a lot closer . _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

Its easy to get too and will work on the route i`m doing. Plus we can use Bond Street to get the Jubilee line to Wembley Park from there.
I was just looking at Irvin Site. I think the problem is the Hyde Park Fair was a combination of two fairs. Where as the London Fair at Wembley is just the Fair (Irvin's) that tours London in the year. Its the same fair which was at Woolwich a few weeks gorn. Just 5 minutes from me but i know the Woolwich fair is awful and gave it a miss. Saying that, its the first time i know of them having the Caterpillar coaster. _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/

Rich your site is not in your signature anymore mate. This is the link.
http://www.smilers-photos.fotopic.net/
The London Fair in Wembley Park was not the same fair that was at Hyde Park. This is why it was so weak.
In this link is are my photos for this years London Fair
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevie-b/sets/72157603661554475/
And in these two links are the 2005/2006 http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevie-b/sets/72157601132554409/
and the 2006/2007 Hyde Park Fair
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevie-b/sets/72157601129541862/
Its a completely different line up. The Log Flume, Crazy Mouse Coaster, Top Spin, Extreme, Move It and most rides were completely different.
It was sad they could have not returned to Hyde Park this year. The area of the park they had used was free. However, The Winter Wonderland, with its over priced suspended Ghost Train piece of rubbish. As well as its over priced London Eye wanna be was operating at the other side of the park. They could have been duel attractions? Yet the smarter looking, lousy Fair was probably given the park rights for the season.
So it was more like a fair in London. Not the London Fun Fair. That's why it was in a back street park miles from Wembley. _________________ www.freewebs.com/big-Stevie-b/
