Wouldn't normally report on a standard park like this but there were a few things that I was really impressed with.
Started the day with arriving a bit early to get my new season pass sorted out. Last year I had to que for over an hour and fill out another application form with exactly the same information on it that I had entered on line so I was most suprised that this year the procedure took 5 mins with no queing and no fuss.
After a short wait I met up with Lucy and Sam and headed over to Fire Training. Not been on this before and I thought we'd easily beat the little kids we were up against. After some manic pumping I ran out of energy half way through putting the fire out which resulted in us coming 3rd.... Somewhat worn out we headed for the Jungle Coaster. This used to be a fantastic wild mouse coaster but now runs like The Ultimate in a greenhouse - Why didn't they put a tunnel over the high part and down the first drop instead of roofs on the cars?
More rides followed on the wavesurfer, Log Flume, Lego Raiders (this would easily be the best shoot-em-up ride in the uk if it wasn't disappointing short), Rapids, Spinning Spider, Dragon coaster and the rather damp Team Extreme.
Now the thing that really impressed me (apart from the brilliant theming) was how well the que lines had been designed. Most had some sort of cover (shade or roof), seating areas and the big rides featured large tv screens that showed a lengthy and entertaining rather than irritating film. Now why can't other parks in the Uk do the same?
Yes.... I've written an entire trip report and not mentioned the Rattler. There's hope for me yet..... Oh Darn! _________________ Without a safety net you're free to find serene pleasure of speed |
