Sad news that yet another family owned park has been taken over by a big company.
Indiana beach has been owned by the Spackman family since 1926, but sadly it is to be no more.

It seems to me that it is being bought by another family run group even if it is larger! so hopefully it wont be such a big deal as if it was being taken over by something like six flags etc??? However it is very sad that it is leaving its foundng family indeed. I have never liked the rumours about Oakwood going down the same route. _________________ Auntie Murial - Ianto James Gulliver

I was talking with Knoebels late last night - and they have assured me 100% that they have no plans at all to sell out. In fact they are quite upset about Kennywood being sold (we didn't talk about Indiana Beach at the time). Although the Kennywood deal may fall through. _________________ RCCGB - THE Club for trips!

That's good to hear.
There seems to be a few too many parks family owned that are being bought by large company's for my liking.
I just hope my beloved BPB never joins that list. _________________

I am hoping it foes not happen to Drayton Manor and Oakwood !!!
Personally i do not think that Bpb would join the list before these two.
Lets hope _________________ Auntie Murial - Ianto James Gulliver

The selling of Indiana Beach will not stop Ryan getting a speeding ticket next time he goes on the lake we hope. _________________ Regards

I couldn't imagine many of the big theme park operators would be that interested in Drayton, especially the over strict planning regs thy have.
I guess thebig draw would be to compete with AT. _________________ Steve
