Hi. I've been a roller coaster/theme park enthusiast since my first ride on the Log Flume/Enterprise and Zipper Dipper at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 1985. Still have the ride list from May 1985, which i have also reproduced in Corel Draw.

My first ride on a big roller coaster was in 1989 on the Big Dipper. Followed in 1990 by Thunder Looper, Corkscrew, Tower of Terror (camelot), Grand National, Wild Mouse, Cyclone (pleasureland RIP), Roller coaster, Alton Mouse, Alton Beast and many more.  In 1992, joined RCCGB after visiting Lightwater Valley.  Went on USA tour in 1995.

Made three records on roller coasters:  Thunder Looper 1991 (30 times in one hour):  Tower of Terror (camelot) 100 times in 6 hours and Soopa Loopa @ Lightwater Valley (100 times in 6 hours).

My biggest disappointment was loosing the Texas Tornado in Morecambe, The Cyclone in Southport and the Log Flume at BPB.  Would also be a sad loss to loose Camelot Theme Park, the last real theme park in north west england.

Another loss was Geoffrey Thompson, Managing Director. If he was still here, The Cyclone would still be open at Pleasureland, BPB would still be free entry and Nick and Amanda Thompson would have no say in the matter.

Next to go from BPB, probably Avalanche, Revolution, take up lot's of space those two.  BPB won't be the same without Revolution.

from

Ian
